Perfect camp saw
This saw works well and can handle bigger logs. Saw purchased to cut gathered camp fire wood. To that end it works extremely well. It cut through 6â oak and handles 3-4â logs easily. The built in oiler is convenient but the cap must be on square and tight else it will leak over everything. The oiler is also manual so you must remember to press it while working. That is a pain, but still much better than a separate oil bottle.
Batteries seem to last. I was able to cut multiple stacks of wood for campfires on one battery. It also holds up well while pruning around the yard.
Complaints: the safety button is not spring loaded so it does not reset or offer any safety. You must manually push it to lock the trigger.
The chain tension knob is nice but you still need a tool to loosen the bar nuts. If I need the tool the tension knob is kinda pointless at that point. Particularly since it is hard to turn.
Case design does not efficient storage space and requires the batter to be removed.
Side handle is useless. There is also no real advantage in having both 6â and 8â bars. Iâd rather have two 8â bars.
Overall I love this little saw. Cutting up campfire wood 1000% easier than hand saw. Easy to walk around house pruning limbs and cutting vines. Also, packs well on my ATV to clear trail obstacles.

Top Of The Line Mini Chainsaw ! ! !
I owned other mini chain saws in the past but this DocSmart Mini Chainsaw has to be the Top-Of-The Line. Seriously, I am in love with this saw. I received the saw yesterday and the batteries charged up in a few minutes. The manual is very concise and clear and honestly, after trying this for a while, I was so excited and there are so many features. I donât know where to start! The trigger is variable speed and has a nice safety lock that is easy to work with. Once the trigger is squeezed, there is a LED battery gauge just above the battery on the saw housing. There is also a very nice worklight LED for night time that comes on when the trigger is squeezed. Anyone who has put a new chain saw blade on a saw knows it stretches quickly until it breaks in. The blue adjustment knob on the side is soooo nice and makes adjustments a convenient pleasure! No more looking for that screwdriver! The accessories are very thoughtful and kind. To include safety glasses, gloves, an extra blade and 6â saw bar in a carrying case made this a great value. This is a keeper!
I really fell in love with this saw when I cut wood dried hard wood. It runs very smooth when it cuts and was not jumpy like other brands. There is way more than enough power for me. Limbing wet green wood will be a pleasure with this. The auto oiler is another great feature. With my other mini chain saws, I needed to stop, get the oil can and lubricate the chain. Now, the auto oiler will take care of that for me. Another great bonus is that I own a LOT of Makita power tools and have several Makita 18 V batteries. Running out of power will be no problem since this saw is Makita battery compatible. Dear Amazon and DocSmart, Thank You So Much! I do a lot of cutting and limbing and this saw will be a great tool!

handy saw for trimming trees
This is a very handy saw for trimming trees/bushes. I got this for my husband to clear some thinner trees and cut some limbs on our property. I didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg for something he won’t use daily The biggest cost is to get a new battery. This is compatible with a name brand out if you need it. We have never had to use the second battery because this lasts a long time. It comes a very nice carrying case. It is light weight and has no real ‘kick’ when handling. The chain can get loose after a while, but he says it is easy to tighten. So far, no problems.

Makes yard work much easier
Easy to use, lightweight, comes with 2 batteries, 2 blades and chains, comes with optional left handle for secure handling, works like a champ, can handle all around the yard pruning and cutting. Low quality plastic, what do you expect from a low priced product. Overall it does the job.

Wonderful saw for the price.
I bought this saw for my husband and he has used it several times and definitely loves it. Say’s it does the job and it’s much easier to hold than the great big saw. He was amazed how well it cut and handled. He wishes that we would have bought this saw much sooner. The saw does a good job it buzzes right through the limbs with no trouble at all. This was money well spent for this product and yes we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a battery charged
light weight saw. It’s light enough for me to also use. Very durable.

Great value and plenty of power!
Summary: Ever cut through butter? Well this cordless tool is pretty close. If you ever wanted power and portable cutting power then get this chain saw!
Build Quality: The outter shell is hard plastic so probably perform fairly well long term if you don’t drop it. Now I did noticethe blade shield did nick easy because I took it for my first cut and not sure what I hit or maybe I laid it down on concrete bute it’s got a small nick on it already. The buttons feel solid and the blade looks of high quality at first look.
Performance: This is where I was surprised. It just slices through an 8in diameter treee like butter. It had plenty of life in it chopping it up into smaller sections. I took down a 10ft persimmon tree like it was nothing. I was expecting more resistance because I had previously used a milkwakee reciprical saw to cut trees which ususally was a lot slower and more work. This portable chainsaw just ate up the work like nothing.
Final Word: Just becareful when using this when you are cutting as it has plenty of power to probably jerk the saw around if you are not careful. As I noted it’s got plenty of power for trimming small trees and I’m sure this can take down a 10in diameter tree no problem. It just dug in and dig the job. Fantastic tool!
