I bought this generator to replace a Honda EU2000i that would not start my Coleman Mach 8 Polar Cub (9200 BTU) AC in my RV. This one takes everything I have thrown at it (within reason) in stride. I starts and runs my AC with no problems and will maintain 120 volts (verified on my plug in realtime voltmeter). The Honda would drop to 80 or so when trying to start the AC in Eco mode, then go into overload. I have yet to experience an overload with the Yamaha. Yes, it is slightly heavier by about 10 pounds and slightly noisier, but still quiet enough to run all night at a campgrounds if needed. I also like that this unit has a fuel pump, so it can be attached to an auxiliary fuel tank and the 30 amp RV receptical and output meter (LED lights) are icing on the cake. With a fuel drain peacock and using non ethanol fuel, I donât anticipate any fuel related issues. Finally, with a cast iron cylinder liner this should run for many years to come. I love Honda products, but am now a Yamaha convert.

Filled with engine oil and fuel. Started easily. Ran under light load. Somewhat louder than I expected however not excessively loud.

Not the quietest 2200 watt generator
Disappointed in this model. There are a few nice options over the ef2000. But itâs not a quiet generator compared to other inverter generators. I own Honda, and Wen generators as well. The Honda EU2200i is the quietest it that watt size. Wen is second. This Yamaha is comparable to my Honda open frame 2800 watt generator.

Will be 100% honest here. I was hesitant to buy generator not directly sold by Amazon. Well, I was wrong. Item arrived brand new in original package. Great! Would buy from Jacks Small Engines again.

Did not start
I bought two of these generators. One started right away and runs fine. The second one did not start. Neither the dealer nor YAMAHA would take it back. Instead they referred me to a repair shop 60 miles away. Although this is a small sample size, you have a 50% chance of getting a working unit and a 0% chance of getting a replacement or our money back.
