Works quite well however, the bag fills up after only one pass of 30 feet / 10 meters. Be prepared to rake. Scarifier as being default installed necessitated change to dethatcher prior to autumn use. Light weight makes storage and operation easy.

Pretty mighty
Like the other reviews. It did well on it’s first use. I have a smallish yard so it was overly taxed, but I had it on a high setting because I didn’t want to dethatch too much and it still pulled up a lot of the dead stuff. The bagger is useless, it would fill way too quick.

Works great best price
I am not a professional landscaper. I own a postage sized lot in a city. This was < $100 delivered to my door. Rentals from the local HD is about $70 for half a day. Yes it isnât professional quality but it got the job done. It is also very compact and fits easily in my garage. I can say the other reviews are accurate. It works, donât use the collection basket and plan your work accordingly as this is a plug in model. I didnât have to pick up a rental and I am sure it will be ready to go next spring or fall when I need it again.

“The MZK 13″ Thatcher delivers solid performance and feels well-built, but the small bag significantly limits its convenience. For my 400 sq. ft. yard, I had to stop and empty the bag nearly 20 times, which made the process much slower than anticipated. The dethatcher itself works effectively, loosening and lifting debris as expected, but the bag quickly fills up. Eventually, I found it easier to remove the bag entirely and run my mower over the yard to collect what was left behind. If you have a larger yard, plan on using another method for cleanup or expect to spend extra time with frequent emptying. A larger bag would make a huge difference for efficiency.”

Great little machine!
My review of this de-thatcher echoes most other responses. Works best when pulled backwards without the catch-bag.With heavily thatched lawns, the machine will fill up the bag within the first ten feet of use. It mulches thatch to a fine fluff that is easily raked up.I love this little machine! Take your time and get the depth adjustment right for your application. Uniform straight rows look the best when ready for re-seeding.

I want to give a shout out to MKZ. I ordered this scarifier/dethatcher and after receiving it it was damaged due to the way it was handled during shipping. I contacted seller and was immediately responded back to with complete instructions on how to resolve this issue. Also, after using the scarifier the product worked great ! Very easy to use and the value for money of this product is great.

Works just as described. I listened to other reviews though and didnât use the bagger. It had been years since I thatched the lawn and I would have stopped every 5-10 feet to empty it had I used it. Raked it up after I was done. Highly recommend and the price is great.
