Great bike but assembly was tough
This is great hybrid type bike for commuting or casual biking, a little on the heavier/bulkier side. Its fun to ride but it takes a long time to successfully assembled it. Instructions aren’t specific to this bike and are very confusing. I recommend finding some Schwinn bike installations on Youtube to follow along. That helped me a lot. Great value for the price.

    Tangerine Dream!
I had been wanting a bike for ages to ride around with my kids! I compared and watched prices for months and was just so indecisive! Once I saw this pretty bike, I clicked buy now right away and never looked back!
This bike is a smooooooth tangerine dream!! Assembly was a breeze! I was expecting to have to take it to a bicycle shop but when we opened the box, most of the frame was built already! If you have a few tools handy, most likely you can build yourself!
What I really enjoy about this bike is how easy it rides! The seat is wide and cushioned and never hurts my backside even after a long ride! I frequently pull my 1 year old with a bike trailer with ease.
The ONLY problem I have had with this bike is finding a ride-on baby seat that fits the frame. The 2 I tried didn’t work because there’s no hole in the frame to screw the seat onto like other bikes. I’m still giving the bike 5 stars because it’s that smooth my older kids prefer it to their own bikes!!

    BIKES!!
This review will cover the bike itself, as well as assembly.
BIKE: This bike is really great. I would rate it a 5, if assembly wasn’t a 2. More on that later.
The bike is really sharp looking, very comfortable, and overall a pretty good deal for the money.
The components are more than capable.
The thing I like best is the positioning of the handle bars and the seat, and the way the bike keeps you upright during a ride. I have been riding my mountain bike on the Rail Trail with my nephew lately, and that thing just puts me in the wrong position.
This bike is built for comfort.
The seat is so nice, I didn’t notice it.
The handle grips are just right.
I looked and looked before finally buying, and I’m really glad I found this, I think it’s going to be perfect for casual, rail trail riding.
Plus, it’s sharp. Looks really nice, has fenders and a chain guard! Something I haven’t had on a bike since I was a kid. 5 out of 5 for the bike itself.
ASSEMBLY: This is what drove the review down a bit. Just such a poor job by the manufacturer. But, YOU CAN DO THIS. Don’t be intimidated.
The owner’s manual is worthless, don’t even bother.
You can YouTube some videos, but they are only really suggestions, since there isn’t a video that shows this exact bike being assembled, just something similar. I would say watch them, for some reference, but don’t rely on them.
The best thing you can do is look at the picture of it assembled.
You will need an allen wrench set, and a metric socket set, or an adjustable wrench.
When you unpack it, the handle bars, while attached, are not in the correct position you will need, so just understand that, and adjust it.
Same with the seat and seat post. Just loosen then, adjust them, and re-tighten them.
Everything else is pretty easy, IF you have all the parts. I did not. I was shorted an acorn axle nut, and really couldn’t put the front tire on without it. Asked a question to see what size I should get, it never got answered, and the guy at Lowe’s tried to sell me a standard size nut, so I just left. Everything on this bike is definitely metric. I guessed the axle nut to be 10m (or 10 mm), but I guessed fine thread and that didn’t fit, so I guess it’s just a regular thread on a 10m. I don’t know, I ended up cannibalizing an old BMX bike my kid had in the garage, seems that axle nuts are pretty universal.
But, just look at the pictures, take pictures of what you have, before you adjust, so you can go back to how it was, if you are visual person. You can do it.

    Amazing beginner bike!
As a newbie to the hobby, I don’t know much yet, but this bike seems like a solid beginner bike to me! It arrived mostly assembled, just had to attach front wheel, seat, handle bars, and front fender. Simple and easy ride, good for leisurely commutes and introductory rides.
Assembly instructions were hard to follow since I didn’t know the name of most of the parts, so get some help! Everything will need tweaking too; after assembly a friend (and experienced rider) helped me adjust both brakes and and the gear system. So I’d recommend finding a local shop or experienced rider to help you true everything up and share some pro tips.

Great quality , easy to assemble , looks solid and has great features ! Love it and can’t wait for spring now and gravel trails .

  8. Jack Baret

Hello, well the bike came all beat up in the cardboard box probably due to the dolts who did the shipping, handling and delivery. The front wheel was devoid of the right nut that held it onto the bike which was super difficult to find in local bike shops due to the threading, etc. The rear fender was dented and the front wheel was not balanced and wobbled slightly. I put it together alone and the assembly took a couple of hours in an exercise in futility hunting down missing parts. My son seemed pleased with my operation as the bike functioned well and is super heavy. It is really at home in the suburbs as its namesake implies, “The Suburban.” The manufacturer should give me a rebate of some sort or replace the bike entirely.
P.S.- I was impressed with the follow up by Amazon and the Schwinn company with respect to my ‘Suburban Blues’ complaints. Amazon reimbursed me $100 for damages and the Schwinn people gifted me a new wheel, wheel nuts and hopefully the rear fender will arrive soon. The blues have gone away for another day!
    Respectfully yours; Jack

Although the bike arrived undamaged it had several defect that I could not resolve & finally took the bike to a reputable bicycle repair shop. At a cost of $80.00 they would make any adjustments. I am still waiting to get the bike back from the shop.
Fail to understand why an item would require so much adjustments that a small engine technician such as myself couldn’t accomplish!
