What can you not say
I purchased this MXR 3500 2 years ago for our camper for those times we just stop at a rest area and need power. Its light enough I can easily take it in & out of the camper very quiet and fuel-efficient, especially on Eco mode untill we stopped over night in Florida and really wish it could have run the AC the fan just wasn’t enough it had performed so well I just purchased a second one and run them parallel and now there’s nothing we can’t run. I highly recommend these generators you don’t need to purchase a high-end Honda to have a quite reliable power source. After two years it still starts on one pull even afternot using it for months on end . I think will be stopping more at rest areas when just pulling over for the night why spend $70-$100 just to sleep comfortably over night they really are that quite and reliable.

Super Quiet
I was astonished how easy it was to start and how quietly it ran. I pulled the handle mostly just to see how far it would travel and the inverter started right up. Smoked for a few seconds, then settled down. I have the single fuel 3500W version. The Eco mode works great and keeps the sound levels down. I bought a magnetized oil filler cap and an inductance type hour meter. When you first fill up the oil, it pays to convert the 0.12 gallon oil tank capacity shown in the specifications to ounces, so you know that about 16 ounces/half a quart will fill it up. The little oil filler tube they provide works a lot better than I expected. On the other hand, the maintenance access is miserable. I can’t get my hand in the spark plug access because it is too tiny. I also can’t get enough access to attach my hour meter to the spark plug wire. Instead of dainty little access ports for the air filter/spark plug/oil, removing the big orange side panel should give easy access to all three (currently the maintenance panel doesn’t increase access to the spark plug, only the air filter and oil drain). I’m going to cut up the black side panel to increase access to the spark plug so I can attach my hour meter feed to the spark plug wire. Not a deal breaker because the inverter runs great, but an annoyance for sure.

Already Paid for Itself
We bought this unit to run the AC on our travel trailer. Worked great for a week with light use, we packed it away for the season when we got home. Then last week happened. The Seattle area was hit with a ‘Bomb Cyclone’ that knocked out power to over 600,000 homes, with a power restoration ETA of “a few days”. It was cold and I work from home, we were in a pickle. Out of desperation, we decided to see if our camping generator could help power our 3000 ft house. We were amazed to find out this generator could power our two fridges, lights, tv, computers, coffee pot, toaster, and even our gas furnace/fan. We had to stagger turning on the breakers so that the generator could get accustomed to the load (fridge compressor, etc.), but it ran like a champ. It powered our home for 5 days, with 15 hour days non-stop runs. I was able to work , we were fed, we were warm, we watched movies, and we weathered the storm. Can’t speak more highly of this generator. Never skipped a beat.Tip 1: Replace the stock spark plug with a quality NGK plug.Tip 2: With unit off, perform two slow priming pulls of the starting cord. Turn unit on and pull normally. Starts easily for us following this procedure every time.

I’ve had the pleasure of owning and extensively using the 5500watt inverter generator for over 200 hours, and I’m blown away by its performance, reliability, and quiet operation. This compact powerhouse has exceeded my expectations in every way, making it an indispensable addition to my outdoor adventures and backup power needs. The pure sine wave output has seamlessly powered my sensitive electronics, and the generator’s quiet operation (considering its impressive 5500watt capacity). The compact design makes it easy to transport and store, perfect for RVing, camping, or home backup power. But what truly sets this generator apart is its reliability – 200+ hours of use with zero issues is a testament to its robust build and quality engineering.A crucial note: the oil changes are essential! I performed three oil changes within the first three hours of use, and the oil was surprisingly dirty. This proactive maintenance has undoubtedly contributed to the generator’s flawless performance. The customer service has been phenomenal, responsive, and knowledgeable. Their support has been a game-changer, providing peace of mind and ensuring I get the most out of my investment. In conclusion, this 5500watt inverter generator is a top-notch choice for anyone seeking a reliable, quiet, and powerful solution. With its exceptional performance, compact design, and outstanding customer service, I’m thrilled to recommend it to anyone in need of a trustworthy backup power source.

Hi very satisfied with my recent maXpeedingrods generator purchase. It works very well on both fuel and propane. The noise is very acceptable and compares to much higher priced competitors like Honda. The size is perfect and the features well rounded. I have loaded it during a power recent outage with 3 appliances (3 fridges), a heater, internet router, a TV and a central vacuum. The unit was behaving with no issues and was just above the half load mark. Time will tell if the unit will keep its performance and be reliable with prolonged usage but I am quite satified with this purchase to date. ð

Almost the same size and weight of my Honda EU2000i. It seems quieter to me than the Honda. Started on gas with first push of the button. Easily starts my camper air conditioner that the Honda wouldn’t. Contrary to another review, bluetooth starting does NOT require any wifi or cellular service. I put my phone in airplane mode and just bluetooth and it starts and stops perfectly with the app. Tested it on propane and it also worked flawlessly. Will update if things change but so far it’s very impressive.

Works great! I’ve only used propane as it’s my back up power in boat when at anchor to charge batteries or use power tools. Never used gas as it carbines up motor and spark plug. Checked motor after 200 hours now clean as a new one. Might loose a little bit of electrical power compared to gas, but less maintenance and motor longevity is worth the small difference in power generation. Lice this Unit!

I just received this little generator today. I quickly unboxed it and went outside to try it out.First impression is that it’s fairly light for a 3500w machine. The instructions seem clear enough it gives a rough idea for maintenance even though the machine does not have a built in hour meter. It came with spark plug wrench, small screwdriver, ground cable, cover, oil fill funnel and adapter plug. I bought a magnetic dipstick made by WEN to use in it instead of the plastic one.. the reason for that was just to clean out any debris from the break in period. The magnetic dipstick is not quite as long as the original but it doesn’t matter you should be keeping you oil topped up each use. I took a picture of the dipstick in case anyone wanted to do the same.Next came filling up the oil. It recommended using 10w30 which I did… I was able to put in about 500ml. They also say you can use 5w30 or 15w30. I guess if you were in the Arctic a thinner oil would serve better. After filling it with gas and the oil to the proper level (bottom of the dipstick threads) I filmed myself starting it for the very first time. Went as expected. A few pulls with choke on and she was off and running. No smoke as some have claimed to have. Ran smoothly for an hour. I tried a number of different power tools and small appliances.. It handled everything as expected.. Its really very quiet. I have a smaller WEN that I bought a few years ago and this is comparable in noise. No… It is NOT a Honda generator so I don’t compare the two. Finally, after an hour of run-time I shut it down and pulled the dipstick to check for debris. There was a very very small amount of metal powder stuck to it.. Fairly normal for a new machine. I will keep the magnetic dipstick in since it fits properly and doesn’t leak I’d rather keep the metal particles out of my engine. For now this generator gets 5 stars. I don’t see anything wrong with it. Everything works as it should. Very happy at this point. I will keep this review updated when I have a chance to put the generator to work.
