This set is is really impressive especially for the price
I kind of rolled the dice on this set.I bought it just to learn. It is sturdy and well designed. All of the many assorted kit sounds are great sounding and there are many helps built into the module to to help with practice: songs in a range of styles, built- in programmable metronome, coaching games , you can even record your sessions. I don’t often review leave a review on my purchases but I think this product really deserves your consideration. I hope Donner continues to innovate and offer great musical products with more than reasonable prices!

    Nice Kit!
Just got my kit a couple of days ago. This is my first electronic drumkit. I’m an old school acoustic drummer, but I hadn’t played acoustic kit in many years. I got tired of being concerned about bothering neighbors when practicing, so I broke down and ordered this kit. This is the only the 2nd electronic kit I’ve played. At first I couldn’t get one of the crash cymbals to work, but now all cymbals work. This kit came with drum sticks, drum pedal, drum key, and a throne. Never seen a kit come with so much. Setup was pretty easy. I’m still figuring out how to fine tune everything from the module, but it feels good to be playing again.

Solid drum set – perfect for student drummer
This drum set was a Christmas gift for our 7 y.o. son. He had been taking lessons for about 6 months using pans and pot lids to practice. We decided to save and splurge on this set when he started practicing on his own and asked us repeatedly to play his favorite song to drum with. The set up took my husband about 3 hours. Longer than expected but it was also late on Xmas Eve and we were both exhausted. It’s pretty sturdy yet compact. You are able to expand and contract the legs of the drum set to fit your space. All drums and cymbals can be adjusted according to height. My kid also loves playing around with the various sounds. He spent about 2 hours cycling through them to find his favorites. We have yet to link to a phone or MP3 to play along with but will be doing that soon.A few areas of improvement are (1) headphones broke within first 4 days of use – one side had no sound so removed one star. (2) The bass drum needs a rubber pad or rug underneath it or it will scratch up your floors. (3) There seems like a missed opportunity to add a small music stand to the back bar. Right now we have a painting easel holding up music behind the set.Overall great set and great price with just some minor issues. My kid can also practice drums without disturbing everyone in the house.

    Buyer beware!
Where to begin? I’ve been a drummer for over 50 years, but I’ve never used either a rack system or an electronic drums. I assumed this would be akin to my rubber practice pads. Very much not so. The new drum heads are very responsive, even more so than the pickup can handle at times. I have the snare pretty tight for good bounce, but the pickup has trouble with rolls. This snare also has a pickup on the rim so it kind of does rim-shots. Playing stick-on-the-head type quiet rims sounds pretty good. The hi-hat might just be too sensitive, as it sometimes makes random sounds when my foot is holding it down and I’m not striking it. I love the fact that I can plug my MP3 player into the module and pipe that and the drum sounds through the headphones. Donner customer support is lagging at this point. I was hoping for a little quicker response for new setup, but I will probably, eventually figure it out myself. Some of my issues might just be system limitations, like the drum roll issue. Maybe a bad pickup. All-in-all, and especially considering the price, it’s a good compromise. It took some time to learn the programming system, like to get the hi-hat to sound right, but they give you several pre-programmed sound styles, as well as one you can customize to your own tastes. As I’ve not played in about 8 years, it’s going to take time to get myself back up-to-speed, but I think this is going to work. There is also a USB port to connect the module to a computer and coordinate with other musicians on-line!Update: Just a word of warning; there is apparently no customer support with Donner. I have sent several emails with questions, none of which have been replied to. Caveat emptor!Update: I did finally receive a response from Donner, but the responder seems not to have much knowledge about drums. I get the impression that they are running out the 30-day return clock.Buyer beware: Donner just advised me that they don’t accept my Amazon order number for warranty purposes. They won’t even respond to direct questions about the kit that I bought. It looks like my only option is going to be to send it back and go elsewhere.I just received an email from Donner advising that they only offer warranty support for items purchased directly from their web site. So I’m stuck with the partially-defective snare drum unless I want to return the whole kit. Buyer beware!

    Grandsons Christmas present
My grandson told me the set was easy to assemble and it is more than he expected. He likes the drums and said they sounded great.

This is an extremely high quality Drum Set which enables a music-obsessed teenager to learn in great detail how to play the drums excellently well. Because the whole kit is electronically connected, the sounds are heard through the player headphones and there is minimal noise (only quiet taps) heard by others nearby. It is relatively easy to assemble but takes a while due to the large number of connected parts,I am delighted with the superb quality of this instrument and my drum-playing grandson is very happy and completely satisfied with the ease of use of this drum kit, which is bothy great value for money and.contains a very solid beautiful metal set of footpads. The electronics connections are superb.I unhesitatingly recommend this drum ket to other buyers because it exceeds all my expectations and the those of the happy recipient and his parents

There is a special tool to tighten the bolts that hold the frame together. Locate that BEFORE you start putting the kit together. The instructions are for setting up the kit for a right-handed drummer. If you’re left handed, you need to do the inverse of everything in the instruction sheet.
