Excellent robot mower
This is our second robotic mower. We have a Husqvarna Automower in the front yard, and this dreame mower in the back yard. It’s a very complicated back yard where the robot needs to traverse a patio next to the pool in order to get to the far side of the lawn. None of the other robot brands are able to do so while this one has confidently skirted the pool all season and never fallen in! Quite unlike the Husqvarna robot, this one mows in perfectly straight lines (if you want it to, or it can randomize it if you prefer) and I enjoy seeing the lines in the lawn. This has really been a nearly perfect robot mower. There are a few areas in which are less-than-perfect, but not deal killers. It does work best if you keep your grass quite short. This is because the front of the robot’s body hangs fairly low, so if the grass is tall it causes a lot of resistance on the body. Also, the robot turns quite sharply at the end of the yard and as it does so by turning one wheel one direction while the other rotate the opposite direction. This action is hard on the yard and tends to rip up the grass and dirt. They are aware of this and they have released firmware updates that have improved this substantially. They seem like a responsive company which is in the process of actively improving their robots. Whenever I’ve had a question for them, they’ve responded promptly and thoroughly. I’m a very happy customer and recommend this robot to anyone who’s interested in robot mowers.

Lidar is superior to RTK and vision
First off, QA needs some work. Product came with the power block in the base not screwed in. Another small cosmetic issue with the lip of the base station is not completelyPast that this unit works incredibly well with the right settings. = if you have a bumpy/rolling lawn and/or tall grass you will need to set obstacle avoidance height to 20cm or it will not mow correctly =Takes way less time to set up than any other mower. I could have just added some no go zones to areas with sand that it would get stuck in, but once I understood it’s limitations I ended up just re-mapping and it’s been running for a week without getting stuck.Adding more areas is easy and it automatically sets a schedule for you.I’ve added a video to give you an idea of how bumpy it is. Straight lines no problem.Saw someone else pulling their hair out in reviews because they don’t have the obstacle avoidance height at the right setting.. once this is correct the mower is flawless.

(Updated) Frustrating – canât trust it. They need an AWD version.
This is one expensive poorly built and programmed device. 2400-300 coupon at the time of purchase, plus I got a coupon from a YouTube video for 200, so out the door I paid 2100 after tax. For this price I would have expected it to have good quality and exceptional software. Unfortunately, itâs a long way from that expected experience. The biggest drawbacks are the following:- Canât handle bumps In lawn, it will think itâs an obstacle and will avoid mowing. (Even when you have the avoidance height set to its max) If your lawn is perfectly flat (or you mow weeds like the video posted by another user) you might have a better go of it.- mapping is a pain (but better than laying wire), and it will get stuck constantly especially if you have areas you donât want it to go. For example, we have a body of water in the back, we gave it a buffer and a no-go zone. For whatever reason, it kept trying to adjust itself outside of the perimeter and lands itself in the blocked region. Which then throws an alarm and requires manual relocation. (Fixed in latest software)- gets stuck in tall grass. If you like a plush thick grass, forget about it, it just gets stuck and you have to constantly babysit this thing (it now remembers it gets stuck, so it avoids the area every time)- gets stuck in mulch beds. Especially if thereâs a âpathâ. It tends to just dig in. Its tire traction is bad 🙁 probably my biggest gripe. (Still is)- subpar customer support (still the case). If you contact support for how do you get it to do cross hatch lawn stripe, they should be able to tell you on the call. I got nowhere. I eventually figured it out by changing the settings in the app, but itâs not automatic and requires you to change direction of the cut every time. (Would be nice if it was just a simple setting)I had high hopes for this (still do), but itâs a long way from being ready for Florida lawns. Hope this helps others looking to purchase this device.Summary, good enough if you have short lawns with minimal complexities – painful if you have anything else.
