A great versatile tool for off grid events!
I’ve been using this battery converter with my Makita 18V lithium-ion batteries, and it has been a versatile addition to my toolkit. It’s compatible with various Makita battery models like BL1830B and BL1860B, making it convenient for outdoor use when there’s no power supply available.
This portable power station transforms 18V DC to 110V AC, providing continuous operation for small electronics during power outages or travel. It’s handy for charging devices such as phones, laptops, tablets, cameras, and lights, ensuring I stay connected wherever I am.
The inverter features an AC output port and two USB ports, including a fast-charging Type-C port. This versatility supports efficient charging for a range of electronic devices, which has been very useful.
Safety is clearly a priority with this power station. It includes a compact fan and ventilation system that efficiently dissipates heat, along with protections against short-circuits, over-current, and over-heating, offering peace of mind during use.
The built-in LED work light adds to its functionality, providing a 200LM light with three adjustable brightness levels. This makes it a practical solution for outdoor power needs and camping lighting.
Overall, this battery inverter is a reliable and handy tool for powering devices in off-grid situations, making it a great addition for those who need portable power solutions.

Excellent for small devices
This can put out 200w sustained (or 400w surge when you turn on a device). That’s enough for powering most electronics or a few light bulbs or such, but probably not much more (a stand mixer will use 300-400w sustained and things like microwaves or water kettles or irons use much more than that).
I do appreciate that it has USB ports – using those will save you the power lost going from DC/battery to AC to DC/battery if you charge a device with a regular power adapter instead of just directly with USB (you typically lose some 10-15% on each side of the conversion, regardless of how nice the inverter is).
I did knock a star off because some of the USB power info in the instructions is contradictory. It says the USB-C is 5v/2.1a, but then in the same line that it’s 20w. The v/a rating multiplies to only 10.5w. This being said, that’s a respectable amount that shows as fast-charging on my phone, but it’s not “super fast” like 20w usually shows.
The regular USB-A ports do the same 5v/2.1a rating (likely shared between them).
The other thing to be aware of is that a 5AH OEM battery has some 90watt-hours. Thus if you max out the 200w this can pull (and have a relatively new full-capacity battery), you’ll get about 20-25 min of runtime (it’s not strictly 90/200 because of the 10-15% conversion loss). It’s worked with both OEM and third-party batteries – just make sure they’re the normal 18v connector (it doesn’t do 12v ones). Using the full 20w that the USB claims then you’d get about an hour of use on a 5.0AH battery.
Size-wise this is about 1.5x as big as a 5.0AH battery (you can see it in the picture). It’s small enough for a toolbag in case you need a quick charger or such.
The light is also nice. It can put out a max of 200 lumens (about 1/4 of a regular 60w-equivalent bulb – but it is directional so it’s about the same the direction it’s pointing) and has low/med/hi/off settings. You can use it while using the USB and the AC port (but remember that the 200w is the max total, and the more you plug in the faster your battery will run down).

200W Portable Power Inverter for Makita 18V Batteries: Novel Enhancement Tool for Small Power Needs
Maximizing the utility of tools and accessories you already own is one of the most satisfying feelingsâand this 200W portable power inverter is a perfect example of that. Designed to work with Makita 18V batteries, it transforms them into a mini portable power station, opening up a world of possibilities for small electronics and beyond.

The design is straightforward, but donât forget to press the power button before plugging in your devices! Once powered, youâre ready to charge phones, laptops, or even run small tools.
What really impressed me is the 200W capacityâitâs no joke. Not only did it handle our heated stadium seats with ease (a game-day lifesaver), but it also powered my Black & Decker corded drill. For something so compact, the performance is remarkable, especially for camping, tailgating, or during power outages.
The inclusion of versatile portsâan AC outlet, USB ports, and a Type-Câmakes it adaptable for a range of devices. The built-in LED work light is another handy touch, with adjustable brightness levels that come in clutch for outdoor use or emergencies. The integrated fan and ventilation system ensure reliable heat dissipation, and safety features like over-current and short-circuit protection give peace of mind when using the inverter for sensitive electronics or tools.
This battery inverter is a novel and practical way to extend the utility of Makita batteries. Whether youâre powering small tools, charging devices, or staying warm with heated gear, itâs a compact, lightweight, reliable, and versatile solution. Not compatible with BL1850B 5.0Ah battery
Be careful, do not work with 5.0 Ah 18v batteries.

Will Be Handy When You Need a Little Power
All of my cordless tools are Makita and I have a dozen batteries. I saw this and thought I would give it a try. I was able to power a lamp in my shop as well as charge a speaker using it. I didn’t test how long it would run an item since that would be dependent on the battery and batteries I have available but it would certainly help get you through a power outage or provide power in a remote location when needed as long as the requirement is less than 400W which is reasonable. It has a light as well. Nice.
