bad dimm slots
Item arrived looking OK. Checked battery before install & it had only 0.065v so I replaced with new one. No setup disk. I’m a bit ticked off after having spent from 2pm in the afternoon till 8:30 this evening dismantling my water cooled unit to get MB out & installing new one only to find that only 4 dimm slots active. All cards lite up but only get 64Gb instead of 128Gb. Switched cards around & all are working but the right bank of dimm slots doesn’t seem to work. Setup menu only recognized the 4 slots in left bank. Nothing wrong with cards as I tried in other PC & the PC recognized all of them. Will uninstall in morning & pack it as I’m worn out & tired. Will buy a different board instead of Asus.

Perfect.
This motherboard is perfect for the average enthusiast. Plenty of storage slots, though one of them kind of has an odd mounting mechanic (see picture). The boot speed is great, about as fast as a laptop (with a m.2 boot drive), very durable and looks fantastic! I havenât had any issues with the boards functionality yet, but be careful with changing things around in the BIOS if you donât know what youâre doing.

i still have this board…
yea it survived from purchase to now even though i had 18-36 distributed denial of service attacks happening to me daily then finally after 2 yrs i found out this board does well with load balancing multiple adapters at once all network adapters power management turned off wifi + ethernet and im getting another ethernet for this board i figure i use this review to tell you to do this to all your network adapters and you set your slowest adapter to 10 and your faster adapter to priority 1 then any other adapter you have that is in between to any number in between and add a free noip dns to load balance the denial of service attacks they wont like that and change their ips to try again and eventually stop
i also got this board after they fried my msi x299 gaming pro carbon ac motherboard and it is still great making this machine into a beast to handle these attacks
if you get stuck in the process go look up in google
how to change the priority order of the network adapters
never disable adapters use a really fast ethernet cord in them connect all adapters to your network and organize them so you can load balance the attacks better this boards ethernet never went fast but the wifi adapter i got gave me full mbps so i put ethernet at priority 10 and wifi at 5 so i can put my thunderbolt 3 ethernet to priority 1 just need the thunderbolt 4 adapter to come in lol

Bit of a pain to install motherboards in general, but this one was not to bad.
It’s a solid motherboard, I had to replace my crappy gigabyte one that gave out in only two years. This was my pick and was not disappointed. It was pretty easy to install overall. My only gripe is there is no screw slot to hold m.2s in place, it is just some double sided tape on the covers for hiding the m.2s.

Using on a 10900x i9 with 20 cores – works great, but yet to enable M.2. with 2 WD 1TB drives
Using on a 10900x i9 with 20 thread cores – works great, tested overclocking, with Crosair 2×32 gb rams on one slot on each side (still 6 free). Thermaltake 3-fan liquid cooler,TT 850 rgb fan on demand power supply, Asus 3 fan super 6gb graphics card with fan on demand(fan only runs when there is heat on both the graphic and the power supply) – RGB synced with TT’s controller and i have to buy both the 3 pin and 4 pin rgb connectors for asus software to sync between all the devices (except ram from 32*2 crosair – which i am crazy about not to buy anything else)
so far one thing i cannot figure out is to enable even the m.2. disks as standard, as it says bios does not support 1 TB WD black drives. i wanted to setup a raid 1 with 2 WD 1TB drives. both does not come down as Hard raids / even the disks are not readable.

The CPU pins were all fine, all components working so far after a couple weeks of use. Instructions were pretty clear on the setup. I have some experience building PCs but by no means an expert, everything was pretty standard.

Motherboard has exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a high-quality component. The build quality is exceptional, with a sleek design that fit perfectly into my case.
Features: The array of features is fantastic. The dual M.2 slots provide incredibly-fast storage options, and the support for multiple GPUs/nvidia sli is rather handy for some people. The BIOS is user-friendly and makes tweaking settings easy. Additionally, the built-in RGB lighting adds a nice touch to my build, making it that little bit nicer
I never find myself short of connections due to the array of ports and a very modern io
For all the features and performance it offers, this motherboard is worth every penny. It’s an investment in quality and reliability that has significantly improved my pcs looks and performance!
If you’re looking for a top-tier motherboard that combines power, features, and style, look no further than the ASUS Prime X299-A II. It’s been a game-changer for my setup, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Highly recommended!

Just over a year into running an MSI Pro X299 as a video editing station… it died. Send the motherboard away and after 16 days in the hands of their Repair Center, I don’t even have an ETA as to when it’ll be repaired or replaced and sent back to me. Sort of KNOWING that this was likely to happen, AND my flawless track-record with Asus motherboards, I ordered the X299-A II, connected everything to it and I was up and running with only a few MSI startup items to delete and some Asus specific items to install. Back to editing as easy as that. Stress test benchmark even produced a better score than the same processor in the MSI MoBo. Excellent Asus X299 board.
