    simple but cute
    yes, this is mostly for young children, but as an adult lover of LEGO I also enjoy a nice toy. I’m a fan of the space theme and I liked the science lab part of the set. The astronauts also have interesting uniform designs. Even the alien is kind of cute. I did enjoy building the spaceship. Sure it’s not sophisticated like the LEM set I got when it first came out, but there’s interesting aspects to this simple ship I like. It’s sturdy and well designed. So any child playing with this would be very happy indeed.

    Our four year old great grand son played with this all day Thanksgiving. Mom helped him put it together and it stayed together well while he (and several adults) played with it. Great toy for a little boy who loves spaceships, aliens, dinosaurs and trucks.

    Building with my 3yr old
    The instructions are clear enough that I could build this just guiding him through the pictures. I opened the bag, spread out the pieces and just had him find the pieces and use the picture to figure out where they go. He still doesn’t have the finger strength to push the pieces in, so I would help there. The kit comes with 2 small build kits; a vehicle and a little mining station. We have only built the rocket. He likes playing with it and can keep it in repair now that it is put together.
    My only complaint so far is the design uses a 1×2 with a single c clip to hold the wings/stabilizer things onto the sides. It is clever since it allows them to move during play, but they have tendency to fall off. It would have been better if the design used a 1×2 with 2 c clips. If you have a pair laying around or can find them for cheap it is worth swapping the pieces in the design to keep the wings from yawing out of the clip. I found them online for about $5 (mostly shipping), but it wasn’t really worth it for 2 1×2 pieces.

    This was a small gift for a wonderful neighbor child and his mom was OK with him receiving it. He was very happy about it and seemed to know about all of the details.

    Solid build for all ages. Comes with a lot of pieces that all create a nice little world of play that is lacking nothing. The ship is really cool too!

    Age appropriate for my 4 year old to build by himself following the simple step by step instructions. Hours of fun imaginary play with the accessories and mini figures. Value worth set ($21.98 CDN) at the time of writing this review. Would be a great gift for someone just getting into building or those who love space themed items.
