    Very easy to assemble
1st update: 8.2.2024 Let me clarify a few things. We live in a small house and I wanted a bike that wasn’t huge and folding was a plus. I got this bike because I need to walk 20 minutes 3 times a day every other day because of venous insufficiency in my legs. It’s miserable to walk outside, especially in compression socks, because we live in South Texas where summer is 8 hot and humid months.
If you want a bike with all the bells and whistles, buy a $1,000 bike. This is a nice basic affordable stationary bike.
What I like: it doesn’t take up much space so I haven’t had to put it away yet. It’s quiet. Very quiet. The display panel is basic with time, distance, calories and it does not have backlight (not a showstopper for me). The bike has a back rest and handholds on both sides of the seat (both are mandatory for me). The seat is as comfortable as you can get with most bikes. The distance to reach the top and lower handholds is good.
The challenge for me is my height is 5’1″ so I need the seat low. I had a total knee replacement last year so that knee is not as flexible as it used to be and I had to figure out how to safely get up and over the crossbar because of these restrictions. I put a child’s non-slip stool near the right pedal (TKR was right knee), hoist myself up and over the crossbar to put my left foot on the left pedal, slide the stool away from the bike to just clear the right pedal, and I ride the bike. Getting off, I repeat the process in reverse order. This is really just a learning curve because it gets easier each time I ride the bike.
I took off the remote control/phone holder because I just couldn’t easily clear the cross-beam getting on and off the bike. I didn’t need it there anyway although I might fabricate something to hold the remote on the top handholds.
I am pleased with this purchase. If anything changes, I’ll update the review.
07.25.2024 This first part of the review is for assembly only. Another review will be appended to this one after I use the bike for awhile.
The instructions were very easy to read and understandable which is a rarity these days. Most of the nuts and bolts were already pre-mounted on the bike which made it very easy to put together. Wrenches and screwdrivers were included. The pictures were accurate with the right numbering. Elapsed assembly time was about 45 minutes including chatting about how easy the bike was to assemble.
Bike seems to be well made with high quality steel. Once it’s put together it’s firm, not wiggly.
More to come after I use the bike for awhile.

    Convenient and compact
I have this bike set up by my dining space in a small apartment, and it’s just perfect. No worries for how to exercise if it’s raining or I have to work late and don’t want to go back out at night. I can hop right on my bike in the comfort of my home. I love the digital readouts for calories burned and heart rate! Great value and I was able to carry up to my unit and assemble by myself.

    GREAT, aside from Cancer label??
Would give 5 stars, but the carcinogenic chemicals are a major concern. First, I will focus on the product & go into the cancer warning and what I found in my research (including “high-buck” bikes on market). Long discussion broken into sections if you’re looking for something specific!
Product Discussion: I think it’s great; It will definitely do the job. Very easy to assemble! I like that it’s easy to move around and can fold up, very convenient. It’s pretty quiet, too! Seems sturdy, the seat is wider making it more comfortable for longer exercise time. I plan to use this at least 5x per week so if anything changes I will update then. I can reach comfortably.. actually it is better than most I’ve used in a gym (I am 5’1″ [120lbs] and my fiance is 5’11” [175lbs] both of us had no issues; he used to cycle for many years and says only thing is the pedals seem to be slightly out of alignment [a bit too forward], something I don’t notice as I am no cyclist). Overall, great value.
Cancer Discussion: First question I had, “I thought ‘cheaper’ bike so ‘cheaper’ quality? Based on my research, this is false. This is not the only bike brand or exercise equipment to contain toxic chemicals (i.e., NordicTrack, Trek, Peloton). While I was assembling the bike, I could absolutely smell some sort of chemical. Eventually, I stopped smelling it close to finishing assembly (known as habituation) and when I gave it a test run, or pedal, for a few minutes I began to smell it again and actually got a headache from this. There are definitely plastics on it outgassing (plastic piece covering belt area in front). ALL plastics outgas no matter what. Please be aware if you do not smell anything, I guarantee you this does NOT mean chemicals are being released, some people have more sensitive olfactory systems. You do not have to ingest something for it to be toxic, we can simply inhale harmful carcinogens unfortunately.
Potential Toxins Discussion: On Xterra’s website, they mentioned Toluene (which possibly caused my headache) and Acrylamide (linking website at end). Additionally, I have come across other POTENTIAL carcinogens through research (epa.gov): Cadmium (commonly used to manufacture pigments and batteries and in the metal-plating and plastics industries) so perhaps this is on the bolts used to secure pieces together with the metal plates? Butadiene (commonly synthetic rubbers, polychloroprene [i.e., Neoprene], and nitrile rubber) and Butadiene evidently has a pronounced cancerous effect on women than on men because it interacts with estrogen receptors. Perhaps this is inside the plastic covering with the gears? Toluene (which possibly caused my headache, is commonly used in polymers to make plastic soda bottles, nail polish, gasoline for improved octane ratings, and paint solvents for example) I wonder if this is coated on the entire bike structure? Lastly, Nickel Carbonyl (commonly used in films, coatings, stainless steel, machinery parts, and batteries) and perhaps used as a coating? Regardless, this really is disheartening – we all are trying to improve our health while inadvertently harming it.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I placed the bike to outgas in my garage (intuition, not sure if will allow chemicals to vaporize). I will leave it there for a while so it will not be in my house polluting the air inside.

    Quite pleased
I wasn’t sure what to expect; however, I am pleasantly surprised. The bike works well. Very easy to assemble; took me 15 minutes. A handful of bolts, two types of pins. Not much to do at all. Tension works well. Seat is easily adjustable but not the most comfortable. Buying a cheap pad for it. The monitor works well as far as time, distance, and speed. My total ODO is off; calories don’t do much but I don’t usually trust them anyway. Wheels don’t work on the carpet. They are too recessed into the bar. Doesn’t matter which way I put the wheel bar on. But it’s not too heavy to move. Folds and unfolds nicely and doesn’t take up much room. I am 5’6” tall with a long torso, so legs are average, and with the seat set at max height, I could still use one more adjustment for the knee extension to be just right on the downward pedal. So I don’t think it would work well for anyone over 5’6”. Overall, I’m very pleased. Quiet, smooth, and great price for the quality.

Buena compra. Sirve muy bien para hacer ejercicio, cumple con su función. Muy buena calidad y muy buen precio. Lo más importante, que no hace nada de ruido, muy ligera y ocupa poco espacio. Excelente producto!

I think it packs quite a bit into such a compact home machine. Good when it comes to tension adjustments. 8 is the max, but I do wish it could be harder as I am used to a harder tension in gym. I think the seat it much more comfortable that I thought, and also wider than I thought.
The size it perfect, and great taking it out when you want to watch tv. Wish it had a phone holder, but I can always attach a bike phone holder anyway. Also would be nice if the screen would charge of the bike rather than batteries, but then again the batteries haven’t died yet. So I guess it doesn’t use much power.

I was a little daunted upon opening the box at all the bits and pieces to assemble. However, the step by step instructions were clear and easy to follow, the tools supplied were very adequate. I was also impressed at what good quality the components were and was very reassured that I had made the right purchase. It took me around 45 minutes to assemble.
Once assembled, I gave it a quick trial, the movement was so smooth and quiet! I also love the options of where to hold/rest my hands.
This bike is compact and not too difficult to safely fold away, for when I need the space back, the small wheels on the front support help to maneuver it for stowing away.
I have used it for longer sessions and find it to be a good comfortable workout, what with the basic console being small, I can easily enjoy watching tv shows while exercising, which is exactly what I hoped I could do.
The seat and height is comfortable for me, I am 5’3″ and weigh approx. 170lb.
The console is simple and the data adds on cumulatively until you reset it by pressing the on button for 4 seconds. It’s handy for goals. Although, I still prefer to use my Fitbit to check my BPM since the pulse reader on the bike doesn’t seem to pick up all the time.

I love this bike. Originally I was supposed to get the one without a back rest, but glad it was out of stock and this one with back rest was selling for practically the same price. The back rest and back handle bars come in handy. I’m still new to exercise routine and still learning how to use use control panel and I use it maybe 3x a week so far. The setup took long for me, maybe 1 hour and 10 mins becuz I have a slight disability with my arm so I’m not able to do things as quickly. However, it can be assembled by yourself all the nuts and bolts including the wrench and Allen key is included to assemble this bike. It is worth the buy. The sturdy bar on the botton has wheels on the underside that goes at the front so you can easily move it. It does fold up, but I don’t fold mine. And its super quiet, you won’t hear if someone is cycling if you’re in another room. The bike arrived on time. Delivered by UPS and they called me to ensure I was home at the door to receive it.

Was concerned over bike, as many mixed reviews. Am pretty happy with it. Was extremely easy to put together, well labeled, almost idiot proof. I am short 5″3 and fit it quite well on the lowest notch. The tension seems a bit weak for the first 4 levels, so i feel it more or less has 4 levels not 8. The seat is fairly large, and i find it very uncomfortable, but also see its pretty easy to just unbolt and put something else on. I find the tracker to be completely useless for guaging distance, speed, calories, etc. The bike is surprisingly quiet for the most part. To be fair i do not ride this bike hard, usually just a steady pace, and a bit harder at the end, but its no spinning class bike. Moves pretty good on the wheels, cept over carpet. I just put a cloth down under it on the bare floor, but find it can do fine without, but if concerned just a pc of carpet underneach works great.
