    Compact and powerful!
Great product, it’s so handy! The additional smaller chain is helpful for right places!

  3. Billy Bob

Small and strong, cuts very well
Works really well comes with extra parts which is nice the battery and charger are proprietary which is okay. The charge seems to last a long time and it’ll definitely cut through decent size wood

    Impressive Battery Powered Handsaw
This hand saw is surprisingly nice. It seems well made and it comes in a nice case with some accessories. It does come all together with the 8″ blade and chain attached. All you need to do is charge the battery and add the oil. It does come with a second 8″ chain and one 6″ blade and chain. Why you need to go down to a 6″ chain beats me. The design is actually quite simple. You will need to flip up the oil cover and unscrew to put the oil in. It cuts very easily some large branches in backyard. However, it does get all the leaves and chips in the area where the gear shaft is. But there is a simple twisting of a latch to take out the holder so you can clear it out or change the chain. It is much easier than my electric chainsaw in which you have to get a screwdriver to get it open. You don’t need a screwdriver for this. All in all I say it is worth getting. However, I deducted one start since I don’t know how long it will last and for the fact that the description said 2 batteries but it only came with one.

8-Inch Mini Chainsaw with 3.0Ah Battery and Charger, Auto-Oiler, Brushless Cordless
I’ve been using these battery powered 6 to 10 inch chainsaws for about 2 years now. I’ve spent alot for a top notch 10 inch with two big batteries and found myself not impressed at all with the motor. This is a little power house of a small chainsaw. I’ve been using this for for five days in loo of my 450 husqvarna for cutting up some dead hardwood and it didn’t stutter, it didn’t bog down, the blades for these smaller chainsaw you would think you run through quicker but I find they last six times longer, the blade on there is true of this fact, I’ve cut up cartloads and it’s still sharp and ready to cut up more. The safety button on the left side takes a moment for your brains muscle memory to get the hang of it but after a few hours it’s just automatic. I was skeptical of it’s bulky frame at the top, instead of the plastic guards across the blade my others have this has what seems like a chunky handle, says it’s the guard for it, i found myself a couple of times holding it for leverage and was useful and really glad to have that instead of the other chainguard, i really do prefer this. Battery power lasted a good while, it did last less powering through thicker radius’s, lasted for two hours last night just doing tree branches for tinder, ran it down several times, takes about a hour to recharge, it’s on the heavier side, I noticed it’s weight difference right away but once you’re cutting and in motion it’s not noticeable anymore. The oil that came with it was super fine almost vegetable oil, i put my regular bar and chain oil in it and it didn’t make a difference. Oddly out of all the more expensive ones I have i prefer this, it handles easy, it’s a beast of a cutting machine, I ran constantly with no issues, motor sounds good, and i only had to adjust the tension once after the first 30 minutes of running and haven’t had to fiddle with it once since and I can’t even remotely say that about any of the other saws I’ve got, especially the hard wood I was cutting. And I noticed it’s got the chippings from cutting coming out closer to the back end of the chain and it helps keep it from backing up. Out of the seven chainsaws of this nature I’m highly highly recommending this one, find a matching type Battery and you will be set, i find this saw commercial grade, like i did this for a living this would be my go to the handle the heavy workload, don’t let it’s “pruning” in the description fool you, it was cutting 10 to 12 inch logs for me, i just had to work it in half circles.

Wow! Great little saw, better than the ones I’ve tried! Get one!
OK, so it turns out I now live on the isle of Oahu on the windward side. Do you recall how the trees and weeds encroached on Sleeping Beauty’s castle in the Disney cartoon? That’s about what landscaping is like here, periodically hacking back the trees, shrubs and other plants that thrive with sun, rain, and volcanic soil. Problem is, I’m in my mid-70’s now and can no longer call myself a handyman with a straight face. Oh, I remember HOW to be handy, but that’s about it. So getting anything done means leveraging off the right tools.
I have a number of chain saws. I can never get the gas ones started so go electric. I have a 20v name-brand saw – the black and orange kind – which is a rather conventional layout, but it really doesn’t measure up, so I have usually had to use 110v plug-in saws, which do work well for larger jobs. But they’re overkill for 2-4″ branches and cutting up.
I bought my first hand chainsaw off amazon a bit over a year ago, just to see what the fuss was about and whether I’d cut my fingers off, and it actually performed quite well and I lost no fingers. However it was clearly a lower-end tool made to work for awhile and then be chucked out.
So I was excited to get a chance to review this one. As I write this, I’m just in from lopping the lower branches off a very marginal lemon tree with it…. yeah, the third time a tree pokes a thorn into my head, it’s going to lose branches as a matter of policy. Anyhow, this saw did quick work of it, and it makes me appreciate the ways it’s better than average.
First, it’s brushless, which means it was designed to last a bit longer. You can feel the difference, as it spins up a bit slower but then hits full power… and I think that’s a good safety feature too.
and speaking of safety features, the second-hand upper handle is really a good idea which you don’t see on most of the other saws on amazon, and was not the case on the other one I bought.
From the heft, I believe that the included battery is 3 amp hour, which is better than the usual 1.5 you see bundled with such tools, and is a significant amount of power. It charged without issue. There’s a battery-check feature built in to the battery, but not all that impressive, I think I’ll just rely on whether it works or not, which is what it comes down to.
And say, a cool surprise, the batteries for this saw are compatible with my other one. Indeed, it seems like most of the chinese saw makers are standardizing on this interface for clipping on to the tool and for charging. This is refreshing, because US-branded tools always make you buy only “their” battery if you need another one… and tip, you ALWAYS will need another one, eventually if not immediately. I don’t know what the interface is called, but I’d be interested in what other tools may use this mount and voltage. Quite a few I’m guessing.
Another plus – the auto-oiler, which I’ve not seen before in this class of tool. With my other one, I literally have to carry around a ketchup bottle of motor oil to douse the blade every several cuts. It works, but I have now lost multiple ketchup bottles of oil in the backyard, and it’s messy.
Still ANOTHER plus my other hand chainsaw doesn’t have – and really most of my others either – is a chain-tension adjustment which can be used without poking a screwdriver in a little hole, or dismantling the whole contraption. YES, all chain saws should have this.
The saw also has the ability to substitute a 6″ bar for the 8″ bar, and includes chains to do so. I’m not sure why I’d want to shorten the bar, other than there’s no other way to use the 6″ chain, but hey, an extra bar and chain, and honestly I don’t try cutting anything over 5″ diameter with one of these anyhow. And hey, it also includes an extra 8″ chain, so I’m good.
It also comes with cut-resistant gloves, which I’ll use and probably lose quickly, but I appreciate the not to safety, and oil for the auto-oiler.
It also comes in a nice molded case, of the sort which is hard to get everything back into and latched down after first taking them out, but a more patient person would probably find it easy. And I will probably use it, once I move a few things out. It’s handsome, nice handle, good clips and quality.
Anyhow, I’m quite pleased with this little thing, it’s my new favorite chainsaw and will be my first go-to now. I’ll append a picture or two of me attacking the lemon tree next time I upload images to my PC.
But I have no problem recommending this with 5 stars.

Bought for my wife who does small (36 inch tall 4-6 inch wide) chainsaw carvings and shop work. Works really well, quiet, powerful and batteries last an hour plus for her. So far, very happy. Light and easy for her to hold, 8 inch blade and 6 inch blade—-great for detail /light work. Small details matter, like batteries and ‘scored/notched’ for better grip and no fumbling.dropping……..little things like that make me think the rest is well done, too. Very happy, we did purchase a 3 year extra warranty with it.

  8. Paul Bradley

Ideal for pruning thick branches. One hand to steady the branch from tearing, the saw can be used one handed.
Important to wear safety gloves. The ones supplied are better than nothing.
Good to have spare chains for future use

  9. On the farm

This is a fairly complete baby chainsaw kit, with saw, 2 bars/chains, battery, a little tube of bar oil and a few minor accessories, all packaged up in a hard-shell case with a thick foam insert with cutouts for easy organized storage. There is actually a big problem with the storage, and that is that everything is upside down: If you put the case standing upright, the oil bottle will be upside down and could leak. If you lie it flat with the branding on top, and the tools are not falling out of the insert when you open it, then the oil reservoir on the saw has been laying up side down. Maybe things won’t leak right away, but seals have a way of degrading over time and this is asking for trouble.
Instructions are relatively clear, and actually have a decent spiel on saw safety, but not super exhaustive, so if you’re a first-time saw owner, I’d seek some extra safety education on top of this.
The charger works relatively quickly on the batteries, but it’s a little disappointing that there’s only a single battery given that these appear to be a proprietary design, although given the slew of battery knockoffs out there I wouldn’t be surprised if they are compatible with one of the bigger battery manufacturers, I just don’t have whatever brand these are replicating to validate.
The saw performs relatively well. It’s not super quick, but I made quick work on some small trees that needed pruning that I would have had no hope with a set of large branch loppers. Putting it through some abuse, I was able to cut off a round from a 14″ diameter log in a couple of minutes, of course I needed to spin the log around and the saw stalled out 3 or 4 times, but decent given the small stature and the nature of the ask. The chain stretched out quite a bit in the first minute, but the tool-less tensioner was reasonably easy to use with no jamming or disassembly required.
Ergonomics is not the best. The top handle for the second hand is in-line with the saw body, rather than across and/or vertical like on a decent gas saw. So holding it two-hand, which you really need to be doing for safety, is rather uncomfortable. Wielding it one hand is ok, but again, super unsafe, you’re giving up a lot of control doing this and I was just experimenting.
Overall performance is acceptable, especially given the nice kit and low price.

Good quality kit and does the right job

I bought this for my garden. Need to cut some plants to male it in shape. It is great tool for cutting small branches. It has 3 different size chains and oil as well. Good thing is it hase safety push switch without pressing it it won’t start. Battery looks pretty good. Comes with sturdy bag. As of now happy with product.
