Amazing tool for hard to reach tree trimming
I’m pleasantly surprised by how well this tool worked. Plenty of power with our 4.0ah batteries and I was surprised how long the battery lasts. We trimmed a lot of trees today and the battery still showed 4 bars left. It cut 3″ limbs no problem. This thing is a time saver!

Good tool
Great tool, bit heavy, value of money.
Need Ryobi battery.
Well recommend for jobs around home.

Easy to use, Good battery life
Used it to cut limbs of up to 4″, cuts fast, but not as fast a a gas powered saw but fast enough. Fairly well balanced without the center extender section which gives a reach of about 6 feet. With the additional length of the extender section you have a reach of about 9 feet, but it is a bit top heavy and somewhat awkward to use. Battery life with the 4Ah lithium battery is very good. Good value if you already have Ryobi batteries and a charger.

Ragged cut but works great!
I debated whether to purchase a 14 ft pole saw/lopper vs this 9 ft cordless Ryobi pole chainsaw. I chose the Ryobi pole chainsaw — great choice! Well engineered design — effortless cut; useful length; reasonable weight & excellent balance; ‘One+’ battery interchangeable with other Ryobi tools; easy disassembly for storage. An addtl 5 ft extension would have kept me off the ladder (don’t do as I did — very dangerous even with ladder securely tied to the tree!), but it would make this tool too top-heavy & unwieldy. Chain speed barely adequate & a bit anemic but OK for less than 3″ dia branches. The cut was a bit too ragged for pruning — lopper or finer tooth saw leaves a cleaner cut — which left me concerned about how well the larger cuts would heal. Excellent tool. Highly recommended.

Flimsy
With or without the intermediate section installed, the working end deflects about an inch. I think I received a refurished one.
It was delivered in a plain cardboard box with no packing materials. The box on one end was open and a wrench was missing.
It was sold with no battery or charger, but the instructions indicated that it had one of each. I think that perhaps the seller bought it and sold the tool and the battery/charger separately. Being refurished, would be even more profit.
The delivery was late and it prevented my help from being there when I had scheduled the job. I requested the $16.55 charge to be refunded and the seller promptly acted on my request. If it had been free shipping.
I have physical problems, so it took a great deal of effort and it took days to trim two pine trees up to about nine feet off the ground. It took about 40 minutes and it caused me to be thoroughly exhausted. It took two more days to drag the branches about 50 feet.
I am going to loosen the gray parts that looks like they are fastened to the black poles with a rivet (I think), add epoxy, and reconnect everything. Since I used it, the tool is even looser. I am concerned with the safety. If that doesn’t work, I will get a pvc pipe to splint the shaft. If I slice it length wise and us a few hose clamps, it should be more safe and secure. It will be ugly, but it’s so crazy, it just might work.

Canot get service on pole saw that stopped working
I bought a Ryobi pole saw from Amazon thru Hintze LLC in Dec 2023. I used it once in December to cut two limbs off a tree and it worked well. Was not used again until Late May when storm damaged a tree and some surrounding area. I used this pole saw for two days to clear up the tree damage. It worked for a day and a half and now will not run (Not a battery issue). When I went to Ryobi, they stated Hintze is not registered with them so they will not honor the warranty. So now I have a broken tool that is within the written warranty that I cannot use. THIS IS TERRIBLE. How should I know when I buy from Amazon that I cannot get the product fixed.
