1970 Produced The Best Triumph Bonneville Ever!
I purchased this video because I’m restoring a 70 Bonneville and wanted to see somebody else going through what I’ve been going through. It was fun to watch but not very detailed however I didn’t expect it to be. I would recommend it to anybody who is restoring or owns one of the motorcycles in the three bike DVD.

I am a big fan of Mark Evans “born” series. I enjoyed his bike build DVD’s, it gives you a good insight in to what it take to do sucha aproject. This is a great DVD if you are into restoring old bikes.

Buying the 3 dvd set is far better value than buying each of these individually. Having said that, I could live without the trike dvd and this is the only one I have not watched more than once – It’s not a ground up project just a very expensive ready made trike kit. However the other two dvds were worth the 4 stars. Just the right blend of instruction, tips, knowledge and humour to stop it becoming boring. These are more along the lines of informative dvds rather than those overly dramatic, ‘we must meet the deadline by shouting in everyone’s face’ type shows. They may lack enough detail for someone doing a concourse restoration but they do inspire you to get out the spanners and resume that neglected project in the garage. The additional menu chapters of owner interviews were a little superfluous and could usefully have been replaced with outright technical info for those wanting more detail. Overall if you like motorbikes these are worth having in your dvd collection.

Even if your not into motorbikes but just enjoy taking things to pieces and getting your hands dirty you’ll enjoy this collection.Buy it, make yourself a big mug of tea, plonk yourself down in front of the TV and enjoy.

This series of DVD’s are entertaining and, to a certain extent informative, including basic details about each restoration and the costs: what it lacks is detail. I probably should not be surprised at this, since it is television and the actual restorations take 300 hours or more to complete. The films are not a step by step how to do it, although steps are shown, with leaps between stages: for example, you don’t actually see a complete engine rebuild, but you do see the process of taking the bikes apart and, more or less the way to put them back together again. If you are interested in a bike restoration, this will probably help with motivation and build confidence, but you will definitely need a good service manual. Entertaining and informative, within limits, this three DVD set is good value for money.
