Honest review and some helpful advice.
A lot of people complain about the charge times or it not working. First it’s a solar panel, it’s not going to charge as fast as it would plugged into your car or wall. Second it works best when it is outside in direct sunlight, not behind glass, not in the shade, not in cloudy weather, IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT. It will charge if it’s not in direct sunlight, but much slower. Also it’s going to take longer to charge if you’re using your phone while charging. The more you plug into it, the longer it will take to charge everything. It also doesn’t help if you’re using a 12ft long cable. So keep in mind when buying this, direct sunlight, turn off the device you’re charging, charge 1 device at a time when possible, and use the shortest cable possible. It’s very useful to have. Good for camping, hiking, hunting, survival, emergency preparedness, or just being environmentally conscious. If there’s a reason why you can’t charge your phone from an outlet, this is perfect. The size is about that of two tablets/iPads stacked on top of each other or a small laptop when folded up. And about 3 or 4 tablets/iPads side by side when opened up. It came with some carabiners so you can attach it to your backpack, tent, a chain link fence or just about anything that would help face it in direct sunlight. It also has a little indicator light where you plug your USB cable into that lets you know if you are getting power, the brighter the light, the more power you’re getting. As long as you keep those few things in mind this solar panel is effective and super simple to use.

Weatherproof and quick charge and folds up!
This solar panel is really great and very clever! It charges a solar powered 200 watt hair dryer!!! It has a quick charge ports for USB C and A and it’s light waterproof and charges quickly my iPhone and other accessories!

    Very useful
Got this for a hiking trip and was very pleased. It’s not too heavy and it works. We had a lot of sun and it kept my phone charged as we hiked (on the outside of my pack) or while taking a rest. Will be taking it on all my travels.Small fault: The phone compartment on the back’s elastic strap comes right over the centre of the phone where the cord comes out, which makes it a bit awkward. Additionally when my phone was in the compartment charging, it got really hot, but it’s easy enough with a cord to put it in the shade or in ones pocket while still charging.Note: There’s no storage unlike a power block, you have to have your device plugged in while the panels are in the sun.

    Great Solar Charger!!
This solar charger has been fantastic for camping trips and outdoor adventures. It’s easy to use, compact, and lightweight, which makes it perfect for stashing in a backpack. The three USB ports are a great feature, allowing me to charge multiple devices at once, and the smart charge technology is really handy for optimizing the charging speed based on the device. The solar conversion rate is impressive, and it holds up well even in less-than-ideal conditions like light rain or fog, thanks to the protective PET polymer surface. The rubber covers on the USB ports are also a nice touch, keeping out dust and water. The only minor issue I’ve had is that, occasionally, I need to unplug and plug my device back in if the charging slows down, but this is rare and easy to fix. Overall, this solar charger has been reliable and a great addition to my camping gear. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a portable power solution for outdoor trips or emergencies.

    Surprisingly effective
Perfect for helping through “intermediate” blackouts lasting more than an hour or two but perhaps not quite long enough to justify breaking out a generator. This worked surprisingly well for me. It took my 20,000 mah power bank from around 25% to around 75% after a day in the sun. I actually didn’t have it out during the “non-peak” daylight so likely could have squeezed a little bit more out of it. I believe pairing this with a power bank is the optimal method, both because it avoids the requirement of having your phone tucked away in a pouch during specific hours, but also because others mention charging multiple devices simultaneously seemed to take longer total time than if they took turns charging them.

    Does charge an iPad
I have bought other smaller voltage solar chargers that claim to charge an iPad and smart phones. They charge phones very well, but do not have the ‘pure’ electrical charge needed for an iPad. This one however does. It looks well built and seems to be made with quality.

  7. Ember

    Seems great but isn’t charging.
Update : I have moved this up to three stars, as the company has reached out to make things right. Will update once I have the replacement and it is working.Really want to love this, it is very practical and good concept. At first it see,ed to be functioning correctly. Got a few items that charged at first during the first hour of use, now despite the blue light blinking to show that is receiving light, nothing I’m plugging into it is charging. I’ve tried different cords and different items and nothing is receiving a charge. Will keep trying and update this if I get it working. If not gotta go through the hassle of returns.

I received the panel on Sunday. found not charging any devices which I have ex. phone, pad, LED flashlight, and energy bank on sunny day. I gave up this device and returned it on Wednesday.

Materiales, calidad, presentación, portabilidad.Lo recomiendo mucho, tal vez por precio existan mas económicos pero este es de muy buena calidad, las celdas son muy resistentes.

I recently went on a two week remote fly-in kayaking trip and needed to get a solar charger for various devices. Of course, it’s always a trade off between function, cost and weight. This showed up on gearlabs webpage as the “best choice” and after reading reviews for awhile I gave it a go. Unfortunately, as you can see, there was significant smoke cover for most of our trip, as such it became clear it charges small devices very quickly in the light (iphone, watch, petzyl headlamp battery, most importantly garmin inreach), fairly quickly in the shade. But it had a hard time charging my bose waterproof speaker and the battery packs I brought with. But given the smoke, they would probably have taken a fair bit less time in full light (8-10hr for full charge in smoke). But we had occasional rest days and pulled out the charger at every paddling break and meal so we could make sure our emergency devices were charged. I hadn’t read fully about the waterproofing at the attachment sites so I didn’t test it while paddling or in the rain (see my drytop wrapped around the attachment ports when expecting rain). My paddling partner brought in a smaller device that wasn’t as fast with charging, did have multiple attachments but the cables were fixed so you couldn’t have two micros or two USB C at the same time (whereas this has 3 USB ports for any combination of attachments). Overall, I love this charger. It’s weightier than I’d like on a backpacking trip but for long distance outdoor events when you’re bringing bigger volumes, this is at the top of my pile. And I’m looking forward to using it in skies that aren’t under smoke weather warnings and evacuations….
