Metal too soft, bad welds
The item worked well for a few hundred spins, then the top plate that holds the compressor and spinner started to bow. Maybe I could’ve gone slower and put a little less strain on it, but I don’t crank it really tight. I bent the plate back down and bolted it to the base plate to prevent further bowing, but I still have to flip the chain and spin every pin twice to prevent crooked pins. The weld for the top plate should go all the way across instead of being only about 1/2″ on each end. Or it could be made of steel instead of aluminum. Not worth $150 in my opinion.

Great tool
I really like this tool. So far I’ve done 3 chains with this tool and every chain turned out perfectly. It produced very smooth heads on the rivets. My only complaint is that there’s no good space on the support block for 3/8 LP chain. You can get it to work with 3/8 LP if you hold it just right. The support block worked great with standard 3/8 chain.
