Extremely quiet and starts extremely easily
I was happy to discover how quite this generator runs. It has a quiet hum that doesn’t bother me if I’m doing a small project. I also love how I haven’t had to fight with it to get it to start. I followed the instructions to use the choke until it starts to run and then immediately switch over the to gas or propane settings and they both work fine. I like being able to use the propane when I want it to run for a very long time or gas when I want it to be most cost-efficient. It’s also fairly light to carry and the plugs keep mud and dirt out of the front.

Solid Generator
So far this little generator has done a great job. Starts easy everytime and is pretty quiet. For the money I definitely recommend this.

Works like a champ
Been using this for a year and it’s preformed great although it has not run on propane. There was one issue on the road when it sputtered but that could be altitude or faulty gasoline. I try to use non-ethanol gas when I can and when I don’t I let the generator run until gas is empty from the lines. The generator powered my RV for 8 hours on one tank while in sitting in snow although I kept the electrical usage to “need to have” such as two small space heaters and a couple of lights. I turned off a heater to run the two burner stove. I think it’s a great buy for the money. Always break it in for an hour or more then change the oil. Champion seems to always get good reviews on Youtube.

DO NOT BUY – Easy to start produces power efficiently – cuts itself off after a few minutes.
DO NOT BUY. I have down rated this from my initial review.I read the CO complaints and thought I would just run it outside. My MISTAKE!Do not discount the CO sensor complaints as I did.CHAMPION – FIX THIS !The thing is not usable from any practical perspective. I would return it if I could. It is outside and stops itself after about 15 minutes b/c of the CO sensor. Ridiculous! The CO sensor is nothing short of a serious pain in the rear.Champion should have a switch or menu option to disable this sensor.I have seen videos that explain how to disable the sensor on other models. The sensor issue is a common complaint of this brand generator and its greatest negative. When it runs, it is efficient and produces power as expected.

Tips for starting 1st time on propane
I bought this knowing there were issues getting it started on propane, so I watched a lot of YT vids and thought I was ready. I wasn’t. I finally got it started and am writing this here to help others.I tried starting the generator, straight out of the box (followed directions, added oil, etc.) on propane. i tried for about 2.5 hours. Came inside and searched the net and watched vids for about another four hours. I was sure it was the regulator (may still be a sub-optimal regulator). Finally, I read another review here that said they had the same issue, tried starting with gas, then the propane option worked. So I did that and had the same outcome: start it with a bit of gas (mine ran for an hour then ran out of gas), then tried starting with propane and it worked. I ran it for three hours the first day, put it away, took it out the next day and started right up with gas. I ran it for another two hours to complete the break-in time. Here are my suggestions if you are unable to start the generator the first time on propane. I can’t tell you which of these actually solved my issue, so putting them all here:1. Read and follow all directions in the manual for starting on propane and gas!2. Turn on the propane very, very slowly. I thought I was turning it on slowly, but ramped back to very very slowly.3. Don’t over-tighten the regulator to the propane. When you screw it off you’ll hear a bit of gas escape. When you screw it on, go about 1/4 to 1/2 turn past that tightness. It should go without saying that if you smell propane after you screw it on, it’s not tight enough. They have cheap propane detectors on Amazon.4. After you’ve tried to no avail for 20 mins or so, remove the regulator and tap the round metal part on the the concrete a few times. You may have a piece inside the regular that got stuck the first time you turned on the propane too fast. That piece is a safety feature in case your hose gets cut.5. You don’t need to go crazy on the gas. Mine ran for an hour until it ran out. Put in less than 1/4 gallon and once you get it started, let the gennie run until it runs out of gas (you don’t want that stuff sitting in your system).I’ll update this feedback if I run into any more issues. I hope this saves you hours of frustration.

Always Five Stars for Champion
What a great generator! This is my third Champion; one was stolen, and the other I gave away. All of them have performed flawlessly. They are always easy to start and run like a sewing machine, and this generator is no different. I love the propane fuel option. Also, there is very little effort required to pull start the generator. I assume it has a compression release system. It is incredible how small and light these newer inverter generators are. I also own a Champion electric/remote start 4500, but it is too heavy to haul around for camping. I also own a Yamaha 2500 watt generator that is twice the size and weight of this Champion and costs more than twice as much. This Champion generator checks all of the boxes for me.
