Description
The Champion Power Equipment 201192 30-Amp Indoor-Rated Manual Transfer Switch with 25-Foot Generator Power Cord and Weather-Resistant Power Inlet Box is an easier, cost-effective way to manage a power outage. Enjoy peace of mind while ensuring security and convenience for your family during an emergency. With 8 circuits available, the 30-Amp transfer switch is ideal for homeowners who want to power emergency essentials during a power outage, especially items without a cord like a furnace or air conditioner. Installing a transfer switch doesn’t need to be complicated. The switch is prewired with labeled wires to make installation fast and easy. Your indoor-rated and UL 1008-certified transfer switch includes a 25-foot heavy-duty generator power cord and weather-resistant power inlet box. The manual switch may be surface or flush mounted. Need to replace or expand circuits? No problem. The circuit breakers are interchangeable. Use your included power cord to connect any 240-Volt portable generator (L14-30 receptacle required) to the power inlet box, even those with GFCI outlets. We recommend a Champion portable generator. The rocker switch on the front panel safely and easily transfers power to the selected circuits from either utility power or generator power. The power-indicating LED lights make it easy to determine where there is available power: utility, generator, or both. A green light indicates utility as the power source at the transfer switch, blue indicates a generator power source, and both lights illuminated means both sources are available. Buy with confidence – Champion Support and our nationwide network of service centers will back your purchase up with a 5-year limited warranty and FREE lifetime technical support.

Safe but limited.
We needed it during Beryl here in Houston, but due to high demands, it took a while to get delivered. The Champion transfer switch is basically that! It transfer switches from breakers. You can select up to 8 switches, however, keep in mind you must calculate all your total watts based on your generator running capacity and prioritize which units are necessary you need to run on your generator as some switches would require two breaker spots. The Champion 30amp transfer switch is also an indoor use, so your electrician will have to open your wall to access your master breaker wires and connect each individual master breaker to each switch on your transfer switch.
Conclusion. If your concern is turning on your generator, but donât want to ever go beyond your watts limit once its all set, then this will definitely be the best route for you!
That said!!
If youâre looking for a more simple & cheaper install with the flexibility of choosing which breaker you want to power ( Just be sure youâre not going over your max watts.!) and would like to actually turn off the power from main breaker (master) rather than a transfer switch (slave) then you can simply use your 30 amp inlet box (7500 watts max) directly to your breaker using an interlock kit as your only other option. Both transfer switch or an generator interlock kit set up will prevent your generator from back-feeding electricity to your city line.
Never install yourself even if you think you could. Always consult professional license electrician.
