Description
Lighter, cooler, sleeker, plus all the added protection of Spherical Technology powered by Mips® and our new DryCore™ sweat management system: the Aries Spherical is like nothing before.
Structural Integrity – The proprietary AURA II Reinforcement Arch makes everything possible. These shatter-resistant, translucent twin bridges run throughout the helmet, providing structural integrity without adding unnecessary weight. Aries’ ultra-low weight (~5% lighter than Aether), impressive cooling power and sleek, compact shape would not be possible without AURA II.
Spherical Technology – This unique ball-and-socket design, powered by Mips, helps redirect impact forces. Spherical Technology also boasts more comfort, improved airflow, and Progressive Layering (which mates two densities of EPS foam to address a wide range of impact energy). The results are clear: independent authority Virginia Tech has rated Aries #1 in reducing the risk of injury.
Cool Comfort – Deep internal channels connect with Aries’ massive front and rear vents. This system provides a path for cool air to flow over the rider’s scalp and exit the rear, taking excess heat with it. Aries also debuts our revolutionary DryCore sweat management system. A soft, silicone bead is hidden within the plush brow pad that redirects sweat away from the forehead and to the temples, where it can evaporate more easily
Streamlined Speed – When it comes to going fast, smaller truly is better. To craft Aries, we focused on reducing the frontal surface area to eliminate more drag. Add in tiny details like chamfered edges on the AURA II, and meticulously engineered internal channeling that actually speeds up the air as it exits the helmet, and Aries emerges as the climbing helmet that doesn’t sacrifice speed, reducing aerodynamic drag by 4% over Aether Spherical.
Lighter, cooler, sleeker, plus all the added protection of spherical technology powered by MIPS and our new DryCore Sweat Management System: The Aries Spherical is like nothing before.

What an upgrade
I have gone through a few helmets and have always veered to the middle of the road helmets. I had no idea what I was missing. This helmet is true to size and extremely comfortable. Sunglasses aren’t as easy to stow, I’m sure with time it will become second nature. This was a very expensive purchase but after my last crash and the damage that helmet took, I never want to worry about skimping out at the cost of my noggin. VA Tech scores road helmets and this helmet was #1. I have a sena attached to the straps that I don’t notice at all. If you don’t mind spending a bit more, I strongly recommend this helmet.

Best helmet ever owned
I have over the years purchased many helmets. Granted the price of my previous helmets never reached this level, in the past I just made sure that they passed safety standards for a cycling helmet. I ultimately selected this helmet after reviewing the safety test conducted by Virginia Tech Helmet Lab.What I like about this helmet: (1) Fit is perfect, (2) Chin strap is cut to an appropriate length, (3) Weight – not noticeable even after extended ride, (4) Ventilation – amazing the airflow that passes through.I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for either their first purchase or those looking to upgrade.

Smaller than other Giro helmets
I gave this helmet 4 stars because it is smaller in circumference than other Giro helmets in the same medium size that I have had. I cannot wear a Bennie or sweat band with this helmet like I normally do with the other Giro helmets that I have. Hopefully the sweat pad in the front of the Aries helmet takes up my perspiration and keeps it out of my eyes.

Innovative Design, Top Safety Rating, But Narrower Than Giro Aeon
Iâve used a number of Giro Aeon helmets for years, theyâre light, well ventilated, and extremely comfortable. Giro no longer makes the Aeon.I wanted to upgrade to a MIPS helmet, and the Giro Aries is rated by Virginia Tech as the safest model. The dual-shell MIPS design is clever and innovative, no inner plastic MIPS cage needed.Unfortunately, the Aries is narrower than the Aeon. Size medium is .5cm narrower at the widest width, enough to make it too snug, especially with a winter thermal head cover. My head circumference is 57cm, within the medium size range, but helmet shape is also important, and the Aries is just too narrow for me.Iâm going to give the Giro Helios a try, it uses the same MIPS design as the Aeon, but it may be a better fit.
