This saw amazed me!
I have been looking for a chainsaw to use around the house but due to past experiences with 2 cycle engines, I was hesitant about making a purchase. I came across this saw on the internet and studied up on it before making the purchase. When it arrived I was surprised and how solid it was feeling much like a gas powered saw. Upon using it it I was even more impressed with the performance. This thing is strong and has an impressive battery life. It cuts through wood much better than any gas powered saw Iâve hade before, and not having to warm it up by hand yanking on a rip cord! Very good saw!

Excellent Power, Great Tool. Batteries expensive.
I got this chainsaw to clear a rural plot of downed trees. I read reviews and this was the 2nd best one, next to the Stihlâ¦but the Stihl was twice the price. This one was not cheap either! It turns out the cost is mostly the battery. The actual chainsaw is only about 1/4 of the total cost. More on that laterâ¦
Power:
If the chain is sharp, this has great torque to cut through thick logs. I did 2 foot round Douglas Fir logs with it(multiple cuts).
Battery life:
The test I read said it could do 208 âcookiesâ that were 6â around. I found I could work with it about 30-45 minutes of actual cutting on larger logs. I needed at least 2 batteries for a full dayâs workâ¦or at least until I tired myself out and stopped.
Build Quality:
It is built well, but I keep it in a case and service it between work-days(4 hours of work). Most of the exterior is plastic, including knobs and oil caps. Vibrations and wood chips drive into the mechanism, and loosen bolts. At the end of a long day I dropped it and it got all jammed up. I was done for the day as it wouldnât work anymore. Back at my garage, I could take it apart and clean, vacuum out the wood chips, oil and sharpen the chain. It is easy to take apart and service. Once serviced, it was like new again. Rugged little saw, just keep it sharp and clean it down between uses and it will last.
Gotchas:
The batteries are insanely expensive!!! They are $310 each. The system has 2 types of batteries, which will work, but the smaller ones offer less time between charges. This takes the larger âBLi30â. The Edger takes âBLi22â. Nowhere on the Husqvarna website do they say this. I tried to be clever and buy the Edger for around $280 just for the extra battery (save $40 and get another tool) but the battery was the smaller âBLi22â which gives about 1/3 less battery time. I ended up buying another battery, another âBLi30â($300)â¦so now I have a total of 3 batteries. I can cut longer than my own stamina now(wonât run out of power), but I spent nearly $600 extra. So, consider that if you need to use this in off-grid or remote area. It might be easier to just use gas, if youâre on a budget. I think 2 batteries is enough, though. It was just a surprising cost that nearly doubles the overall cost. But, I didnât want to be servicing a small gas engine and dealing with winter-izing it. The electric is nearly service-free and quiet. I have electric drills from 1960 that still work, so thatâs nice. Plus itâs really quiet!
[Edit] Iâve been using this weekly for about 2 months. All the above is still true. But, I have buggered the mechanism that sets chain tension. Itâs easy to do. The entire mechanism is held in plastic. The electric motor has enough torque to rip the mechanism apart if the chain gets stuck or pinched. While getting pinched can be reduced by technique(Iâve gotten wiser), it still DOES happen. The screw that sets chain tension is set in a plastic channel with a stop. The torque generated by a pinched chain (pinched in a tree that settled during a cut) is enough to rip out the tension screw and deform the plastic channel. The deformed channel is now more likely to slip the tension screw. I basically have to take it apart about once an hour and fix it, now. The new part is $40 from Husqvarna, but itâs back orderedâ¦so I have to wait 2 months! Iâm limping along with this process: 1) Use it for an hour until it pinches or slips a chain.2) Take it apart, clean the chips out, re-set the tension screw back in itâs channel, re-Mount the bar, etc.3) Repeat.
I wish Husqvarna made the tension screw inner assembly out of metal! Itâs the Achilles Heel of an otherwise great saw.

Easy to handle, easy cuts
For a battery powered chain saw this one really does the job. battery lasts longer than others and that’s a plus.

Very good light duty chain saw
This is a good homeowner 18â chain saw. Cuts very well and is lightweight. My only negatives are that if trying to cut tree trunks in fire wood length I overheated the battery and it then took a couple hours to cool enough to recharge. If liming trees or cutting 12â trunks that probably wouldnât be an issue. Has plenty of power for most work. Reviews for other brand chainsaws also mention the battery cool down issue so it is typical of this size battery chain saws. Oil is easy to fill and the sight window is a great feature along with tool less chain adjustment

Powerful but you’ll wish you had a second battery.
This thing held up against a 20â makita on a 60â trunk. Light, powerful, easy to use. Didnât miss the gasoline fumes. Battery only takes 20-30 min of hard use though. Youâll want two.
Definitely keeping.

Electric Husque cuts like butter!
I was doubtful about switching from gas power to electric, but, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The modern saw is ruggedly built yet feels familiar in hand. Safety features are robust including the sheath and anti kickback mechanism. When cutting the feel is solid and reassuring because it has power to cut through tough woods with ease. Chain Adjustments are again familiar and well designed. I’m looking forward to many years of use from this saw without the hassle of clogged carburetors and mixing fuel.!!

Terrible customer service , bad chain included
I bought a Husqvarna power ax 350 I for a gift. I just opened it yesterday and the saw would not even cut through 3 inch limb. I contacted Amazon and they were absolutely no help. The customer service representative could barely be understood as English English was obviously not their first language. They sent me a link to Husqvarna. I open the link to Husqvarna and there is no way to contact a live person. I was stuck in their chat room that obviously was not connected to a real person but had canned responses.
Absolutely no way to talk to Husqvarna. The chat room told me to take it to an authorized dealer which was in a different city. I took it to the authorized dealer who told me they did not work on battery chainsaw. He took one look at it and said that the Chain was totally dull and had been used. The only use we gave it was trying to cut through one 3 inch limb, which it would not do. I am stuck with a chainsaw with a bad blade and neither Amazon nor Husqvarna was any help at all. I ended up having to spend $25 on a new blade , take my advice and if youâre going to buy something like this, buy it from an authorized dealer and not from Amazon customer service Was terrible and they sent me to Husqvarna who is even more terrible.
I donât know if just the chain was used or I got a return from somebody either way I spent three hours wasting my life trying to resolve this satisfactorily.
