Description
Keep your personal protective equipment upgraded with Husqvarna Technical Apron Wrap Chainsaw Chaps. These Husqvarna chainsaw chaps contain PVC-coated 1000 Denier polyester with Tek Warp protective layers that are designed to reduce the risk or severity of an injury and give the operator extra reaction time when contact is made by a moving chain. The heavy-duty, cut-retardant material is designed to “pull” apart and clog up the sprocket system of a chainsaw to slow or stop the chain from rotating depending upon the speed of the chain, length, angle of contact and power of the saw. Husqvarna chainsaw chaps also feature adjustable waist sizes (36 to 38 inches), Acetyl Delran buckles and a felling wedge pocket for gear. Wash this chainsaw safety equipment in cold water with mild detergent and hang it to dry. Protective chaps should never be considered safer than proper chainsaw handling safety procedures. This Husqvarna chainsaw safety gear is UL certified and meets ASTM F1897, ANSI Z133.1, and OSHA regulation 1910-266. In addition to these chainsaw chaps, Husqvarna offers a variety of chainsaw accessories like protective chainsaw pants, helmets, forestry tools, work gloves and hearing protection.

Pro Grade Quality & Comment on Size
First let me say these are serious professional grade protective chaps. All the material is high quality including the straps and fasteners around the waist and leg. I like that there are four straps that go around each leg, One at the thigh (which you cannot see in the picture) and three below the knee. This is important for comfort and safety because it allows you to adjust the size for a propper fit and it prevents the chaps from being loose and flapping around, which is not only uncomfortable but also dangerous because you could trip. Additionally, these pants are heavy so poorly fitted heavy chaps that flops around would add to fatigue while working.
Second, a comment on sizing. The measurements 36-38″ and 40-42″ pertain to the measurement from your waist to your ankle. This is not an inseam measure like for jeans. Everyone is shaped different so take your waist to ankle measurement to be sure. I’m 5’8″ and waist to ankle I measure 37″, the 36-38″ size fits perfect. Rule of thumb is if your jeans inseam is 31″ or less, go for the 36-38″. Otherwise go for the the 40-42″. Note, if the chaps are a little long you can cuff them under to shorten it and the bottom strap on the leg will hold the cuff in place (another great feature about these chaps). Waist measurement is nearly irrelevant, the waist strap is plenty big.
Lastly, these chaps are excellent quality for the money. I was surprised how high quality they were. Don’t go cheap, chaps are one of the most important pieces of protective gear you need. Most common chainsaw injuries are to the leg. Jeans will not protect you at all, they are like tissue paper to a chainsaw.

Excellent quality, well designed and made
I was previously using a pair that were more like chaps, these are more pants-like and have better coverage . I like the fastening buckles which are easily adjustable and click securely in place⦠also, with my old pair , they tended to want to slide down below my waist, because the weight of the chaps were supported mostly by the waist band fasteners. These have the one at the waistband , one around the thigh and 3 more below the knee including one very close to the bottom. When adjusted snugly, each one of these is helping support the weight
So they arenât sliding down⦠rarely require adjustment while working. I got mine on sale about a year ago for around $90 but still worth it at full price. To clean them when they get dirty or sticky with pine sap, I spray them with Spray-9 , lightly scrub with a nylon brush and rinse them off with the hose and hang on the fence to dry in the sun. I donât like to put them in the washer to avoid cracking the plastic buckles or prematurely wear them out.

Husband loved the fit and this company makes great products for those that cut firewood.

Great safety gear.
Must have when working with chainsaw. Doesnât take too long to put on. Pants are better but these are much more affordable. Excellent quality.

Good Chaps. Lower Leg Wrap Works Well. The Top Pocket Is Useful. The Lower Pocket Is Useless.
I have been using these for about 2 years. They have worked well for me. The lower leg wrap is a good safety feature especially if you work with a longer chainsaw bar. No issues with fit or function. It helps to snug up the buckles from time to time, especially on the lower buckle of the leg wrap, as this area tends to get beat up by brush.
When I purchased these I was concerned that they would be more cumbersome than the typical 2 buckle apron style chap due to the additional buckles and lower leg wrap. Not so. They go on and off quickly and they might even be a little less likely to hang up on brush due to the lower leg wrap.
I have found these to be quick drying. Hanging them overnight in a warm room has always worked for me.
The pockets on these are not very functional. There is a small external pocket near the left hip. This one closes with a single snap on top of the pocket. I can just barely fit a 5.5″ plastic wedge and lumber crayon in there and the snap slows things down, especially with gloves on. I think this pocket may have been intended as a cell phone pocket because it seems like a smartphone would fit in there. There is a second pocket down toward the bottom of the left thigh. This one has an open top and a bottom closure with 2 snap buttons. The open top is a problem. I used to put an 8″ plastic wedge in there but the wedges go missing pretty quick due to the open top. I lost a couple of wedges this way and called it done. I no longer use this pocket. The pocket fills with wood chips, again due to the open top. You can pop the snaps on the bottom to clean it out. Now that I think of it, maybe it was the bottom snaps that let go causing me to lose wedges. Normally I find Husqvarna products to be very thoughtfully designed but this pocket gets zero points.
I put up a few pictures to show you what these things look like after being used for a while. I would guess I have between 100 hours and 200 hours of wear on these. The reflective bands on the lower leg are coming off but the straps and buckles are all good and that is what counts. They take a beating.

Great purchase
As Iâm getting older Iâve been meaning to buy chaps for woodcutting and I made the purchase this year – I had a close call last year that helped finalize the decision – so glad I have them now – feel a lot safer with them on – I most often am by myself cutting in the woods and these provide safety and some peace of mind while Iâm out there. I love the wrap around calfâs – the buckles are very easy to attach and release – they are warm when theyâre on but I take them off while Iâm loading the wood and simply put them back on when I start cutting again. Money well spent and my wife is glad I have them too

Good fit, comfortable to wear.
The fit was easily adjusted both at the waist and around the legs. Very sturdy construction.

Bought these pants for added safety when using chainsaws. They seem to be made well and quality fit and finish. I am 6 ft 250 lbs they would fit up to a 42 waist. Good length and easily adjustable to fit snug around your leg. As a side note, they make walking through thorns and thistles a breeze.
If I had one minor complaint it would be the waist strap it a bit narrow. A wider nylon webbing and maybe a bit heavier duty. But very happy with the product.

A great product, fit perfectly over my standard work trousers for the occasional chainsaw use at home and when out on fencing jobs. Plenty of adjustment on the straps to make them as loose or as snug as you want. There is a bit of weight to them, but still easy to walk in. Well worth the price for guarantee safety, and not being stuck to your legs all day when not needed.

After using chainsaws for 40 years my wife said no more without chaps. I currently have five saws at two farm properties and purchased the Husqvarna wrap chaps to try before getting a second pair. I found them quite heavy and very warm to wear especially when doing heavy physical work. There are no belt clips and I feel braces may be needed to save constant hitching. They wrap around the legs snuggly and provide excellent protection. Adjustment is easy and I’ve found it’s easier to leave them set up for work and carefully step out/in rather than loosening the buckles and retightening when next used.
We had a few trees almost 200 feet come down in a storm and I was glad I was wearing these due to the slippery wet ground. After an hours cutting I needed to take them off to cool down and found the front orange wrap was covered in dark slime/algae etc from the trees. These were left to dry and pretty much brushed off. A quick scrub with water on a nail brush removed some stubborn spots and they looked like new.
I’m considering another pair for my son as they do provide so much protection. They actually help you feel safe and protected due their high quality. I’m also looking at Oregon pants which are so much lighter for use in the warmer weather but will purchase another pair of these due to their construction, high protection, comfort and relatively cheap cost.
I found the stated size very accurate. I’m a 36″ (92cm) waist and the 36 – 38 are perfect to wear over jeans or work overalls.

Very well made, fit comfortably, a bit on the heavy side but this only adds to the protection so a reasonable trade off for safety.
