I love it!
A friend of mine demonstrated the Ktak on Darbuka Planetâs website and I was hooked. It is a pricier than other similar mini cajons BUT the others had mixed reviews- the most common complaint was poor craftsmanship. Many complained of split or gaping seams. The Ktak is very well-made. All the seams are tight and clean thereby having good projection via the sound hole.
Sound: itâs not very loud but it does play well and is perfect for those of you who also play the doumbek, it has almost identical playability and would be a great practice drum that wonât bother the neighbors. I think it would probably sound good micâd up – I will soon get an idea of how it will sound through a sound system and will update accordingly.
Playability: it has a lot of character and subtle nuanced tones.
Strap: I had to change the strap. I am a portly dood and the stretch strap included just was too small – so I easily unscrewed the strap holders and mounted a standard guitar strap, now it works perfectly.
Side note: I also teach inner city kids drumming and bucket drumming in my cityâs parks. I am seriously considering starting a GoFundMe page to purchase more of these to start a hand drum class for my kids – given the Ktakâs small size – they would be perfect for traveling from park to park

Great sounding, beautiful instrument, and… The strap swivels!
I friggin’ love this little body cajon!!!! I can’t stop running my hands over its lovely finish, so smooth and pretty! I love that it has the snarish sound on one side, and when you flip it over it has a more woodish, bongo sound. And I love that flipping it from front to back does not tangle the strap because the fasteners on the drum swivel! When I opened it I thought the straps looked really small, but when I put it on I found that the straps are elasticized, not too tight, just right. And it’s adjustable for sharing with your friends who aren’t quite so generously proportioned! I am looking forward to driving my husband crazy with this fun, beautiful, very professional looking, high quality little travel cajon!

Portable percussion
This is a fun little percussion instrument. I like the fact that itâs reversible. One side has a snare sound the other more like a bongo. Iâm having fun with it.

Great travel drum.
I actually played it around town for a couple hours and made $40. ð¤¯
I am disabled and can not carry a heavy drum. Its light weight, very portable, attention grabbing, sounds great and is made very well. I have both the Ktak and Mashbox and play them together.

Great sounding travel cajon.
Great little instrument for those who can’t leave the house without one. Always carried by regular Cajon in my van now I don’t have to. Take this wherever I go. Always jamming with friends. Especially at camp. Definitely a must have.

Really nice little drum
It’s a nice little drum. I wanted something lightweight I could take out in the yard and play. I was actually looking for a smaller djembe and this popped up. It has a nice crisp snare sound. The bass tone is not as deep as I like but it is a small drum. I like the strap that you can put around your waist. I read a review where someone straps the drum around their thigh when sitting.
Gina Clay-Poor: Love the drum but,it cracks along the rim. Th.is is my fourth drum I have bought, and every single one has cracked in the same place .very frustrating, I would like a replacement . –
Drum cracks along the rim within the first month of having it
Like the sound, but after about a month playing it everyday, all my drums I bought here have cracked in the same place around the rim. Did not like the strap that came with it, instale my own strap system using buckleledd belts, and reinforce the elastic. The strap that comes in it gets blown out and is not strong enough to hold the drum
in the same place on the body
I wear my drum my chest when I play and it represents the breastplate of righteousness. From the Bible Ephesians 6:10 through 20. Thank you for listening. I would like a refund and or another drum

Wonderful drum!
This drum is so fun and easy to play. It is so well made and has a great finish. It may be more expensive than similar drums but the workmanship is outstanding. I would highly recommend this drum. Along with this Ktak drum, I have also own their cajonga and cabonga drums which are equally excellent. The drum fits easily into a messenger bag. It is lots of fun!
