Lego Construction Crew Keeps the Real World at Bay!
While I’m a lifelong, adult Lego fan, I also like to keep smaller projects like this in the craft drawer for visiting nephews, nieces and neighborhood children. They are an enjoyable and constructive way for them to pass the time while their parents keep occupied doing adult things.
This Lego bulldozer is the perfect size to keep a child proactively preoccupied, while letting them go home with a toy. It’s small size and simple build means that it won’t take too long to put together. It also looks great while providing a functional little truck.

Awesome Gift
Got this for my seven year old. He was able yo completely put it together on his own and is able to play with it without breaking. It fits in the palm of an adult hand, and the blade is functional. Super fun stem gift.

Neat lil toy
Had a few points where the instructions were a tad unclear. One track doesn’t move freely enough, even after remounting the wheels and ensuring nothing was in the travel zone.

The Lego Technic sets are nothing like the other Lego sets, although they often use some of the same parts. They can be super intimidating, even to adults (I know it took me a long time to understand my first basic technic set, which was a rather simple monster truck!), and in this case small sets can be better as gifts than big ones.
Interestingly, Technic sets are often sturdier than regular Lego sets for play and are great for younger kids — but Lego is also about teaching how to rebuild and re-imagine. I find Technic is usually more appealing to slightly older Lego fans, often in the 8-10+ category (or, well, 8-40+).
This set turns into a great little bulldozer, and the treaded track vs regular wheels is a very cool feature that my nephew was very excited about. This is a great kit for kids who loved, or missed out on, the Snow Groomer or very small motorcycle Technic sets.
The set has extra tread pieces, as they’re the smallest and most likely to get lost over time and play. They’re the same size as all treads for all Technic sets, too, so I have a bunch of spares stored in a tiny ziploc container.
Lego Customer Service is also AMAZING about sending replacements, no matter how inexpensive the kit! It’s been a very positive experience the few times I’ve needed to contact them, the team just a pleasure to work with.
(When my cat decided an important bit was his now, I sent them photos asking if there was technical support for this — they got such a laugh out of it they sent me a replacement piece asap, agreeing there was no hope of retrieval! He still plays with it, so it’s a great fake-out when we’re building sets — he can feel like a proper naughty chaos gremlin, and we can still build the set. Very win/win!)
Anyhow, this little set is fabulous both for first-time Technic builders or longtime Lego enthusiasts. There have been many bulldozer kits, but few so small, and this one goes along well with the small dumptruck Lego Technic kit from a year or two ago.
And who doesn’t love construction equipment?
