Light weight & heats up fast
Limited around the house & garage use has been great. Not a regular user of the device.
Heat output has met my needs. Battery life has lasted through any of my small projects. Even my attempt to kill weeds around & on my patio.
I have tried using it to kill weeds between patio bricks and it doesnât work well.

Convenient and Efficient
I’ve been using the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Cordless Heat Gun mainly for applying heat shrink to wine bottle caps, and it has been a great tool for the job. The most striking feature is its cordless design, which offers incredible convenience and flexibility. Being free from the constraints of a power cord allows for much easier maneuverability, especially in areas where an outlet isnât readily available.
In terms of performance, this heat gun definitely does the job well. It heats up quickly and provides a consistent output, which is crucial for precise tasks like sealing wine bottles. The battery life is quite impressive too â I can get about 30 minutes of continuous use from a 4Ah battery, which is more than enough for most projects.
This Ryobi heat gun is a valuable addition to my toolkit, especially for tasks that require mobility and ease of use. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and cordless solution for their heat application needs.

Great Heat Gun⦠After a Little Drama
Okay, letâs talk about the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Cordless Heat Gun (P3150). When it works (which it now does), itâs an absolute tool dreamâlightweight, powerful, and perfect for a variety of tasks. The fact that itâs cordless is a huge win for anyone who hates dealing with tangled wires while trying to heat up materials or strip paint. Itâs quick, efficient, and Iâm honestly loving how convenient it is for my DIY projects.
But hereâs the catch: when I first received the heat gun, it was like the universe decided to play a cruel joke on me. It didnât work. At all. I thought, âHey, no worries, itâs Ryobi, Iâll just charge it up and get to work.â Spoiler alert: It didnât work after charging. I checked everything, fiddled with it, and was ready to throw in the towel.
After a frustrating exchange process (which, letâs be real, was not exactly fun), I got a new one. This one works like a charm. It heats up quickly, has the perfect temperature for a variety of uses, and Iâm back to loving Ryobi as much as I did before. Itâs the kind of heat gun that makes you feel like a pro in the garage or workshop. The ergonomics are great, itâs comfortable to hold, and it gets the job done without breaking a sweat.
But, yeah, the first one didnât workâand that little hiccup did take away from the overall experience. Iâm knocking off a star for the hassle I had to go through, but now that Iâve got a working one, Iâm totally satisfied.
So, if youâre in the market for a reliable, cordless heat gun, just make sure you get a good one from the start, and youâll be golden. 4 starsâwould be 5 if I didnât have to deal with the initial hiccup, but once itâs working, itâs perfect.

Needs good batteries
I bought this because I had a bunch of Ryobi batteries I wasn’t using. Turns out they were all garbage. Some of them would only last 10 seconds before cutting off. I got a new pair of genuine Ryobi 4ah batteries and it works great.

Works well
Love this series of tools. I use heat guns alot for heat shrink wire applications and works great. It is so nice not to be tethered to an electrical outlet.

Very Low Heat & Airflow
I love my Ryobi ONE+ 18V drill, so I thought this heat gun would be a sure win to add to my Ryobi tools to make use of my batteries. I usually use a corded heat gun, but was tired of constantly fighting with the cord around the garage. Unfortunately, this cordless heat gun turned out to be a huge disappointment. It barely spits out any airflow at all, with much less heat than a hairdryer. Other reviews have mentioned battery life is disappointing as well, but I’m not sure I’ll find a good use for it to find out. It doesn’t have much more heat in it than my breath.

heats up
heats up quickly. Good for those offsite jobs that a plugin would not work. Typical Ryobi hi quality

Ok but not hot enough
It is as described and you can do some work with, but if you need a good heat gun that even works in cold days, just look for something else.
I recommend the corded heat guns but if you need something portable, go for a Milwaukee. Yes they cost 3 times more than the Ryobi but itâs worth it if you need it regularly.
For my needs the Ryobi is ok but can be frustrating sometimes if itâs cold and you need much longer to heat up something.
It is very lightweight and not too big.

We have multiple of these on hand, at all times, for personal/professional use and for clients that we do granite Columbariumâs for. We use them for safe removal of granite niche panels during Winter months when things freeze. Excellent products.
