Fantastic Starter/Commuter/Bargain bicycle
I needed a bike to commute to work because my previous one was stolen. I haven’t ridden in quite some time so I looked for a starter bike to get back into it. This is a great bike for a commuter or new cyclist. Some things about it:
Pros:
– Assembly isn’t bad at all. Crank, chain, and brakes are already on the frame. Need to tighten some screws up as well as connect some pieces and your good. Handlebar is already set up with tape and brakes so there is no concern for setting that up.
– 14 speeds have a good high and low for the everyday rider
– Tires are 700×28 (not 23) so they are a little more forgiving.
– Price point is great
– Shifter/brake from Shimano very easy to use and friendly for new rider.
– Quick release tires
Cons:
– Brakes needed fine tuning to work appropriately.
– Seat is okay but red marks have rubbed off on my pants.
The only other issue for myself is that 53cm is a bit much. I can’t stand above the bar with the bike straight up. I’m 5’7″ and have short legs so there are two reasons for ya.
For you heavier riders out there: I’m 275 pounds and I’m able to ride this thing with no issues. This can help you get up and riding until you are ready for your next one!
I would recommend this bike to everyone and will update this comment if anything arises. Definitely 5 stars for the price.

Great bike for the price.
Let me begin by saying I am a 62 year old man that just started riding bikes regularly again 2 years ago for cardio after a heart attack, so I am not a bike expert by no means, we had some old Next bikes that we rode rarely before that and they where ok for casual riding but after a couple of years of riding 3 days a week and building up my endurance i was ready for a upgrade so i researched the available bikes in my price range and decided on the Schwinn Volare 1200. So far after 3 weeks of riding 60 plus miles I’m very pleased with the bike over all.
The kickstand mount did break the first week when i rolled the bike backwards with it down, and the seat as stated by a lot of the other reviewers is not comfortable at all i replaced it with the Pioneeryao Professional Bicycle Bike Seat Gel Bike Saddle ($16) as suggested by another reviewer and for me it was a good improvement.
The bike looked great when it arrived, packaged well and all parts protected. good looking frame with pretty welds, Some reviews mention that installation was a pain – I did not find this to be the case at all, but I’m pretty mechanically inclined, I did need to adjust the derailleurs which I had never done before but YouTube got it done .
I do not like stickers so i removed all of them right away.
I would differently recommend it !

Great bike for the price but….
I am an avid cycler and ride about 80 to 100 miles a week normally sticking to gravel trails and some paved bike paths. I own a Trek mountain bike and a Fuji hybrid (I ride the Trek about 70% of the time). I was looking for a cheap road bike just to use when I am out on the paved bike trails so I do not wear down the tires on the other two bikes. I have never bought any bike on Amazon or any direct ship but I figured I would try it and worst case send it back. I received the bike in 2 days (prime). The assembly was very easy (but this may be because I have maintained my bikes for so long) just attach the handle bars, seat and front wheel (it comes with quick release so its a snap). The frame is very well built, light weight and the seat is comfortable. Heres the bad. The gears are a mess out of the box to the point its not really rideable and even with my knowledge of bikes I could not even make the adjustments. The tires are cheap but will pass for a season at least and the breaks are loose. So liking the price and frame, I decided that I would invest in taking it to my local bike shop for them to tweak it. A week later I picked it up and love it! It rides very smooth, the gears shift great now and it handles the hills fairly easily. So, if you buy this bike plan on having to invest a little more money to have it adjusted by a pro; if not, don’t bother buying it as is not adjusted at all out of the box. That’s the only warning I have and I will defend schwinn as its like that with most every bike you buy out of the box.

Used and damaged
Beautiful bike would have been great if it was new. All the parts were in ziplock bags and no instructions.

Pretty simple assembly
After reading the reviews of this bike with people saying their bike was scratched, had flat tires, stripped pedals I was relieved when I received my box in perfect condition. Upon opening the box, the bicycle was packed so well with every part of the bicycle covered in either foam or cardboard and not a scratch. Assembly was easy as the front wheel attaches with a quick release lever, the seat gets tightened with an Allen wrench. The handlebars are clamped in with an Allen wrench also. Very easy. The bike did however have a warped front wheel which I had to straighten by adjusting the spokes by tightening or loosening them at the warped area. I got the wheel almost perfect. The brakes needed minor adjusting as all bikes do and they work well. The rear derailer also needed some adjustments because it wouldnât go into the highest gear. Another fairly easy fix using a screwdriver and adjusting two screws on the derailer. I rode it for about 30 miles so far with no problems and the gears are shifting to perfection. As far as the seat goes, it could be a little softer. I was also suprised how light it is. I love this bike, what a great deal for $300 bucks.

I love cycling and I decided to buy my bike to start cycling long route distances. Looking around the web I could only find chinese brands that would fail after 100km. I found the best compromise with Schwinn Bikes that It is a good brand for beginners.
Overall the bike is stable and reliable. after few rides I have good feeling with bike. brakes and gear is working fine, after several adjustments.
The dark red color is amazing I really like it.
the Bike arrives almost assembled, the problem is that inside there are no tools, but the minimum requirement is few screwdriver. Easy to assemble for everyone, but if you are not comfortable just go to a bike shop.
The chassis is Alluminium and the bike is light about 12kg but I was really disappointed when I read MADE IN CHINA.
for this reason I give 4 stars.
Overall I really recommend this bike for beginners and for everyone who wants to stars long routes.
Have a nice ride!

Got this assembled/ tuned by a bike technician and he immediately noticed 2 problems regarding the rear hub and bottom bracket. Reached out to amazon and the rep did not bother to help me. Simply said âokayâ and told me to return. In the end, Both parts needed to be fixed and ended up costing me an additional $100.

The nut in the rotating arm where you attach the left pedal came badly stripped/damaged, so it is impossible to attach the pedal and use the bike.
The handling is not very smooth
