Loud, Bassy, and has good battery life? THIS IS A STEAL!!!
I have to say this speaker is way better than i imagined and that i underestimated how loud it might get, Before I bought it I watched a bunch of reviews saying it was “Quiet” and those were a bunch of lies the sound quality is amazing, the bass is nice and boomy, and has nice low end. Another aspect of this speaker is it’s size it is smaller than i imagined and from what i saw in the videos that i saw Sony really took “Portable” into consideration when designing this speaker. This is a high quality product that i can’t even put into words it is made of recycled plastic material and the texture is smooth and really nice overall, I prioritize bass when it comes to speakers and this really did the job. The battery life is excellent it hasn’t died yet and the lowest its been was 40% which is what it was when it arrived. This is also really good for it’s price I caught it on sale even after christmas and paid $41.23 instead of $59.99. So i do have to say i recommend this to anyone out there looking for a small protable speaker that they can carry around and throw in a bag easily with good sound quality, gets really loud, and has good deep bass that is boomy.

Compact speaker with USB power and clear sound, reasonably priced.
This compact and enjoyable speaker offers a range of features at a very reasonable price. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity and some unique features like covers for the ports to protect the unit when outdoors. The device feels sturdy and appears to be designed to withstand rough handling, making it suitable for outdoor use. I appreciate the USB power option, which eliminates the need for inconvenient connectors and mini-USB cables. The speaker delivers clear and well-balanced sound with a good range that travels effectively. It also provides excellent battery life, which is a hallmark of Sony products. Overall, I highly recommend this speaker.

    Perfect
This speaker is flawless. Small, light, has strap. Sound quality is surprisingly good. It is not loud enough for a pool party. It is loud enough in a room for most settings but much louder than you expect from a half sofa can. The sound quality is very good and the bass is also good. There is a separate sub woofer underneath the speaker. Connects easily. Looks sturdy and waterproof. Buttons are nice. Great buy for the price.

Compact Powerhouse with Impressive Sound Quality
I recently purchased the Sony SRS-XB100 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, and I am beyond impressed with its performance! This little speaker has quickly become my go-to for music on the go.
While the speaker is excellent for music, I wish it had a built-in microphone for hands-free calls. It would add to its versatility for those moments when I need to take a call.
Overall, the Sony SRS-XB100 is an amazing little speaker that delivers impressive sound in a portable package. Whether you’re at home or on the go, it’s perfect for anyone looking for quality audio without the bulk. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and compact Bluetooth speaker!

    Great sound, small package
I bought this to replace an older and heavier bluetooth speaker. The sound is rich and full especially in a hotel room space, and its super small and light to easily fit in my backpack. The connection is easy with iPhone, and holds a charge well.

Highly recommend these little speakers as a Stereo pair combined with a storage case!
I have had a few months time enough to evaluate this speaker or should I say speakers; I purchased two of them for the ability to have stereo. I got them to replace my failed JBL Flip 5 Waterproof speaker. I could have just purchased the latest JBL Flip 6 but decided to try the Sony’s instead. In comparison I would say the bass and battery life were better on the JBL 5. But the Sony’s have grown on me. They do have great sound and good bass as well as hearing beautiful separated stereo. The battery life is about 6 hours and not 12 has they claim. Although they do charge up very quickly. Setting up bluetooth connections was tricky making them sync for stereo. An easier way to connect is using the free Sony App “Music Center” which connects them with ease. Once connected, they can be used with any other App on your phone. One troubling thing was carrying them as a pair. There is no linkage to hold them together and there is no Sony case designed to hold them as a pair. After full research on this I found that the dimensions of the JBL 5 resembled a similar shape and size as a pair. I purchased one of the “Lebakort Hard Case Compatible with JBL Flip 5” (slender but longer for accessories with a carrying handle) and also bought a Hermitshell Hard Travel Case Fits JBL Flip 5” (shorter but fatter for accessories with a secure loop and Carabiner). Both cases are a perfect, comfortable fit including the charging cables. I highly recommend these little speakers as a Stereo pair combined with a storage case. Love them very much and I’m sure you will too.

    Great sound quality
Sounds really good. Maybe too bassy sometimes, but it’s definitely great. Pleasantly surprised.

High-Quality Mini Speaker; Not Loud enough for Large Spaces
I love the look and feel of this product. The bass on this speaker is excellent as well. It is a good speaker for small and quiet areas. I purchased this speaker to play music at work. I work in a large kitchen with lots of background noise. The music played by the speaker was almost completely drowned out. Do not recommend it for outdoor or loud environments.

Me encanta la parte portátil, ya que con su forma compacta es sencillo llevarla y con un excelente sonido. Aprobado por la familia!

  10. Sundrec

I have owned quite a few speakers in my time, from small to large, wireless and powered. This one stands out for its richness in volume, loud enough for an outdoor environment and small enough to carry anywhere. Connection to my Samsung phone no issues, no loss in connection, smooth play. Good speaker for the money.

    REVIEW AFTER TWO WEEKS’ USE
Sony caught thunder in a cup and called it SRS XB-100. This speaker is pretty loud and clear for its size, purpose and price. It is strictly meant for personal use or a small gathering of 6-8 people at best. Yet this little coffee mug outsmarts every other speaker below 5000 Rs.
(Note – this speaker is not loud enough for a party. Those who feel that it is not loud enough for personal use may get an audiological evaluation to see if you have noise-induced hearing loss. Since hearing loss from loud noise (above 70 dB / 70% volume) is irreversible, try to reduce the loudness you listen to and follow 60:60 rule.)
    AUDIO QUALITY
Vocals are loud, crisp and clear. Bass is good but not over-the-top. Good treble. From my experience, I would rate SRS XB-100 for various purposes as below.
    Playing music files = 10/10
    Playing podcasts = 8/10
    Call quality = 8/10
    Playing YouTube videos = 7/10
    Playing Movies & Series = 7/10
Generally, 50%-60% volume was sufficient for audio files to be clear and loud enough. Podcasts needed around 70%. YouTube videos, Movies & Series needed 70%-100% and they largely depended on the quality of file as well. Some old BBC documentaries and series played as clear as any music file at 60% volume whereas Avatar, LOTR series and Spiderman needed at least 80% volume.
    PORTABILITY
The MOST underrated aspect of this speaker. You could take it and hang it anywhere.
    CHARGING & BATTERY LIFE
About 4 to 4.5 hours to charge fully. At around 60% volume, SRS XB-100 lasts for nearly 10 hours, 2 hours less than advertised. At full volume, it lasts nearly 6 hours. But it has no fast charging and the chord provided for charging is very small. These are the only cons I felt.
    SONY MUSIC CENTRE APP
It just tells you how much battery is left, allow connecting with other Sony speakers for stereo effects and updates the software. It serves no other purpose for this speaker.
    COMPARED TO OTHER SPEAKERS…….
From below 5000 range, only Tribit MaxsoundPlus comes close in XB-100’s audio quality. Tribit XsoundGo is not even as good as the good old Sony SRS-XB13 which got replaced by XB-100. To me, XB-100 sounded better than Tribit Stormbox Micro 2, and even Marshall Willen. XB-100 sounds way better even than Sony’s own 24W speaker SRS XE-200.
Don’t fall for the gimmick of speakers with more wattage. 1 watt means that speaker can produce maximum 87dB sound within 1 m distance. Whereas as a 20W speaker could produce only 97dB sound within 1 m distance. For comparison, train horns are blown at 90dB. Any sound above 90dB could cause earache and permanently damage hearing. Nobody plays songs and videos at that sound. As the distance increases beyond 1 m, loudness also decreases.
So unless you are not looking for a party speaker or something for an outdoor gathering, a speaker below 10W is sufficient. I am NOT talking here about how loud a speaker can get. There is no point in getting a speaker that is just earblastingly loud but lacks any clarity of sound.
So yeah. I am completely satisfied with this one. Try it; you too might be.
