Chose iGen5000DFc for Dual Fuel and Westinghouseâs Highest-Capacity Inverter Generator
Iâm very happy with this generator. I chose it because itâs the largest of Westinghouse’s inverter generators, and the dual fuel feature is excellent for emergencies. It runs quietly, comes with a thorough user manual, and is reasonably priced compared to competitors. The remote start is convenient and easy to use, and the ECO mode helps reduce fuel consumption.
With wheels and a retractable handle, itâs portable enough to roll on hard surfaces. However, at over 100 pounds (without fuel), you might need assistance to carry it long distances or lift it into a truck bed.

Nice Generator
This review is for initial impressions only since I just received the generator. The generator was packaged very well and included good documentation with a quick start guide. The generator has a nice fit and finish. After adding oil and connecting the battery the unit started immediately and ran smoothy and very quietly. I applied various loads in both eco and normal mode and the generator responded nicely maintaining a steady voltage while remaining reasonably quiet. This generator has some weight to it, so I’ll probably get some ramps to aide with loading it into and out of the pickup truck.

Perfect Generator for Tailgates!
Great generator. Very portable and easy to carry. Easy to set up and extremely good build quality. Very handy for tailgates, picnics, and any other emergency situations that require power easy and fast. Noise level is suberb and did not have any problems. Capacity is perfect for its size and will be a great addition to any garage.

Works good, starts great!
Love how it has a remote start feature. Not too noisy! Not extremely heavy to unload/load. Has a long run time on a tank of gas! Would definitely recommend.

Great generator for general or emergency use
Love this generator! Very easy to use and price point gets you a top quality generator for mid-tier price. In addition to brand/quality, having the dual fuel capability and quietness were my main reasons for choosing this model. Highly recommend.

Early reaction to a new product.
I am very mechanically inclined and have worked with several kinds generators. I have only run this new one about 20 minutes so far with a about a 27% load on propane. My purpose is for emergency household power and very occasional RV use. I wanted to upgrade from a pull-start, gasoline-only unit to an electric start, dual-fuel unit (gas & propane). I intend to use only propane to alleviate typical gas related maintenance issues. I downloaded the owner’s manual before purchase and read it completely. My maiden start-up using the electric starter motor on propane was amazingly quick, smooth, and simple. Works exactly as advertised. I don’t have much use for the remote start feature except for possible emergency remote shut-downs. I like the digital hour meter/info display. So far, I like everything about it. It is a hunk at 62.8 pounds for a 78 year-old guy but I concentrate and lift correctly and safely. Lot of power for the size and low noise level and safe for electronics with a pseudo-sine wave inverter. Time and use will tell but I’m expecting great things on nice clean propane. I will update if things go south. Read and heed the manuals and start up instructions. Especially page 15 re: connecting the battery wire connectors. It’ll save some head scratching it you don’t hook it up. Nowhere I’ve found does is it mentioned that it comes with an .8-am battery charger and receptacle on the control panel to plug into for routine charging the battery during storage. That’s a great feature and should be highlighted! I’m in love so far….

Features Galore!
First of all, I am super impressed with this inverter gen! The first thing I noticed was how quiet this unit is in both Eco mode and normal mode. Duel fuel will also be useful for my different scenarios. The digital display tells you everything you need to know with a push of a button. The remote fob worked flawlessly. All of this and the power is super clean, it’s a very manageable size (wheels and handle a plus) and the electric start feature is a game changer. No more pulling and pulling! This will be a very useful purchase for me personally. Good job Westinghouse!

Good generator, good value!
I bought this generator as a backup power source for power outages and camping. Out of the box it started right up on gas, I changed the oil twice after break-in and after the 1st 4 hours no issues whatsoever. Ran propane to clear out the last of the gas, no problems. It’s pretty quiet, even under load, I have no complaints. It’s got a suitcase handle and wheels so you can cart it around with ease. Fuel seems to last a long time. I’ll update later on but this seems like a great generator and I’m very happy with it!

I really liked the purchase, it is very quiet, in the video I connected a small heater of about 1150 watts, you can see the generator screen consumption, it was at about 25% load, my idea is to connect in addition to that load, the refrigerator, the television and some lights, I imagine that with that I reached about 75% load, I would use it for camping and in case there is no electricity in the house due to snow or a big storm. It works with gasoline and gas, for the gas connection it comes with all the necessary hoses for connecting it to the tank, it comes with oil for the engine, very good instructions and user documentation, I am very satisfied and of course I recommend it.

I gave 1 star to draw your attention.
5 stars on the generator so far.
0 star for customer support. They never call me back! Maybe the warranty has no value at all!
0 star for oil change. I have 3 different generators, but this one is the worst for oil change, extremely bad engineering. They could have improved this 1000 times just by making bigger opening on the left side to allow the socket wrench to go straight to the screw. I would fire all engineers designing this part of the generator!
I have small hands, but in order to open the screw allowing oil to get out, I have to unplug a positive electrical wire, and that generates more work! Or they just added a hose so i donât have to open that screw, very hard to reach.
