Yamaha tru wireless headphones
I wasnât sure about these for my Yamaha Clavinova CLP piano, but they work just about perfectly. Since the transmitter plugs directly in to the headphone jack, transmits wirelessly to the receiver/charger, then Bluetooth back to the headphones, there is near zero lag between pressing the keys and hearing the notes. The actual sound was a tad different than my wired headphones but I think thatâs because I can hear a little of the outside background from the room. Anyway it took about a day to get used to that and now I donât even notice. You can even connect directly to another device via Bluetooth, and there is a wired in case you need to make a wired connection. Very pleased. And I donât have a chord to trip over or drop on the keys while Iâm playing. Bonus! So far I have not had to charge it. Have played for about 5 hours. Super simple to place back in the holder though, for charging.

They work
These are excellent headphones – high price, but there’s no discernible delay. Top-notch sound quality.

Yamaha
Good stuff.Sound- overall I am quite happy with the quality of the sound. Being a Quiet Comfort Bose headphone fan for the last 15 years, I think these Yamaha have better sound. Yamaha gives better sound separation between left and right channels and better clarity with the higher frequencies such as drum cymbals and are clear not muddied out by the bass such as Bose is infamously known for. For example, upon listening to Blackened by Metallica, I could hear all the cymbals, rides and hi-hats that didnât hear with Bose and my appreciation for Lars drums skills doubled. I do notice that sibilance (S sounds) are a little prominent on these Yamahas but that is sound realism and Iâd rather hear things are they actually are and not be falsified by the artificial sound coloring from Bose.Bluetooth connectivity- I’m able to connect my IPhone, Android phone and my Windows PC to Bluetooth. One thing I noticed is you might need to hold down the Bluetooth button on your headphones while your other source search for Yamaha. You may have to continue to press the Bluetooth button on headphones like 10 seconds or more until the PC or source can find it. Yamaha manual says to just press the Bluetooth button once. But that doesnt always work so easy. You may need to continuously hold it down until it shows.Non wireless Bluetooth connectivity- this is really where these headphones shine. You can really use anything that has a headphone output and it doesn’t matter if it’s an 1/8th or 1/4 inch output. Just connect a stereo cable from output of device to the input on Yamaha transmitter and the headphones should automatically connect. Give it a few seconds. Once it is set up, you can jam on guitar or really any instrument and you can cut out an annoying headphone cable like a vine wrapped around a tree lol.Comfort- these do not cause outer ear fatigue. I can use these hours at a time.Latency- the manual says latency is 4 milliseconds. To clarify, there are 1,000 milliseconds in a second. 4 milliseconds is less than 1% of a second. Can anyone really detect less than 1% of a second? I most certainly can not. So realistally and practically speaking, it’s just easier to conclude latency is really a non-issue here.Crackling and popping- other reviews on the web talk about crackling sounds. I’m not hearing any of that.Volume- so far I’m only able to adjust volume on the device being played and not through the headphones itself. Not really an issue though. One thing that would have been cool is if you could play both Bluetooth AND wireless transmitter at the same time. That way I could jam to Bluetooth while jamming with guitar. However, there are little ways around this, you just got to be a little creative with an extra set of earbuds along with headphones over the earbuds.Overall, very pleased with this product.5 stars to Yamaha for designing this product.

What a surprising disappointment
This sounded like it was designed for exactly what I wanted. Playing my guitar through my computer and not being tethered to headphones. I already use a wireless guitar transmitter so this sounded like it would give me full freedom. Seemed a bit expensive at $350 but I thought it would be worth it. Turns out, not so much. The sound completely drops out frequently and has a lot of tremolo-like artifacts, and other noise. These were unusable for me. I really did expect better from a company like Yamaha. There was no latency, but the cost was having the sound drop completely. I tried turning off bluetooth on my phone and my computer with no improvement. I re-positioned the headphone transmitter multiple places in the room. I turned off my guitar transmitter and used a cable in my guitar (I really wanted these to work). NOTHING helped. The headphones continued to drop sound and have artifacts. Sometimes the sound drops for a second sometimes for multiple seconds. I got better results if I stood with my hip right next to the transmitter but as soon as I moved to hit a pedal, the sound would drop again. I do have a WiFi hub in the room but I and others in the household need WiFi. For me these headphones warrant one star but Iâm giving them 3 because they might work better in a different environment. They felt comfortable and were easy to set up and use. After one day I sent them back. Be warned that sending them back will require a trip to the UPS store, or for you to spend $8 for pickup (not sure when this changed for Prime customers). You canât drop these off at Whole Foods. The nearest drop-off âAmazon Storeâ that would accept them was a 30-minute drive. If you donât mind repacking, labeling and driving to a UPS store, the drop-off return hassle, these headphones might be worth trying to see if they work in your room. It would be best if you have minimal electronics in the same room. Not sure why my guitar transmitter works but these headphones do not. Don’t set your expectations too high.

Excellent but too expensive
Make no mistake, these are fantastic headphones for practicing guitar, the latency is unnoticable, they are powered so you can adjust the volume on the headset while wearing, they have great battery life, and, in my opinion, they sound great. They are high end headphones for sure. I’m docking them one star for the price, the headphones shouldn’t cost anywhere near the cost of my guitar amp, I think $200 would have been a much fairer price, but welcome to the age of price gouging.
